Rating: Summary: Lee does what Lee does best... Review: As he has done in the Rama series with Clark, Gentry Lee adds a capitivating human and emotional depth to a science-fiction framework..
Rating: Summary: One is not enough Review: This book is very readable. If you enjoyed the Rama books, you will enjoy this one. Gentry Lee has given a more indepth view of the Rama universe, with an exceptional focus on the Solar System. Anyone who reads this book will not be able to wait for the sequel
Rating: Summary: The Appitite Deepens Review: Bright Messangersstruck me in a way that few books have done. I feel compelled to wander into every bookstore that I pass a inquire if they have a release date for the ongoing story of the Rama Universe. Like Star Trek, there is a consistancy and reliability of the characters and background that draw me in like a moth to a flame. This type of friendliness and comfort is worth sharing with other
Rating: Summary: Re-hash of GL's and AC's Rama books Review: G Lee used the same formula for Bright Messenger's as he did w/ most of the Rama books he worked on w/ A Clarke. If you recall, the last 3 Rama books were significantly different than A Clarke's solo work on the first Rama. I enjoyed the Rama books, but reading BM was just like the last three Rama books, only different characters. I highly suspect the sequels will continue to be rehashes of the Rama theme. It worked for the first series, why not again? He'd do much better to team up w/ AC (or anybody w/ an original storyline) and do something inovative
Rating: Summary: Surprising and fulfilling. Review: When Arthur C. Clarke wrote "Rendevous with Rama" there was one dismissive remark on religion. Later when three sequels appeared, all cowritten with Gentry Lee, there was a much different attitude towards religion and far greater character depth and intrigue. "Bright Messengers" is Lee's solo effort and is set in the Rama universe and continues the religious themes. Even if it starts out slowly it gathers great momentum and it is one of the most enduring books I've read in some time
Rating: Summary: Great SF! Review: This is the best science fiction book I have read in a long time
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: I thought they could never top Rama Revealed, but it happened.
Read this book!!!!
Rating: Summary: magnificent Review: After I finished reading all the Rama books I thought nothing would come close to them but to my own delight I found "Bright Messengers". Now for the first time I find myself constantly checking in the bookstores for the sequence. The dream goes on

Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: I'm going to have a hard time waiting for the sequel
