Summary: Good action story
Review: I have been a big fan of this series and overall it has been pretty good. This story is straight forward. The DaVinci is attacked by a superior force and don't have a lot of time to make to a colony in trouble. What makes the story good is the action that is described here and the determination. I also like the fact that Captain Gold is featured here more. I would like to know more about him, but in this story you do get to know what he is made of. Pretty strong stuff. The couple in the colony are interesting but for me it was the action of the DaVinci slugging it out and solving this problem in typical SCE style. I recommend this e-book but be warned it is short.

Summary: Good story although it strays from the format a bit
Review: This is a nice story by two well-established Star Trek authors. The story does stray a bit from the S. C. E. format in that most of the action takes place on the ship and a lot of space battles occur. But it's a nice departure from the norm and it's pulled off well.
