Summary: A great read
Review: Great book with a great plot and all, but still a little dissapointing. Cabe and friends are forced to make allies with some very awkward beings including many past enemies. There are really two main things going on in this book revolving around two different mani characters. The gryphon is on a wild chase for an aramite aka wolf raider that reminds him somewhat of his past. He finds himself in the blue dragon's realm of Irillian and soon joins the dragon king in an alliance against the 2 raiders and the ice dragon. Meanwhile General Toos is left to protect Pennacles from the black dragon king and his horde. While this is all occuring Cabe with the assistance of the green dragon is devising a plan to take out the ice dragon and its monstrosites that will destroy the dragon realm. Yet another twist in this is Toma who is forced to release Cabe's captured wife Gwen and help both Cabe and Gwen defeat the ice dragon. Between Toma, Cabe, Gwen, the crystal dragon king, the storm dragon king, and even the avians and others the ice dragon just can't pull off his plan to destroy the dragon realms. While everything works out for the Dragonrealm the Gryphon has to go across seas after the aramites to figure out his past. Which leads to the next book Wolfhelm

Summary: The second in a great series
Review: This book returns us to the realm Knaak first created so vividly in "FireDrake." Our hero Cabe Bedlam is forced into conflict with Ice Dragon, who has hatched a mad scheme to engulf the world in an eternal winter.

The story is not half as silly as it sounds. Not even a quarter. Maybe a tenth, though. Seriously, this is a good read. It fleshes out the setting and the characters even further while providing another entertaining, fast moving story.

The only drawback to this book is that there is less intrigue and surprises. Still worth a read.
