Rating: Summary: Not as good as "The Godmother"... Review: ... but absolutely worth reading when you're a fan of classic (in this case Irish) fairytales in a modern "outfit".
Rating: Summary: Superb! A true delight to read! Review: Elizabeth Ann Scarborough's "The Godmother's Apprentice" was a masterpiece. It was an excellent display of talent and imagination. Although I was skeptical about it after the first few pages, the plot really picked up and I couldn't put the book down! I recommend it to anyone seeking an adventure that is out of this world, yet thrilling AND realistic...all at the same time.

Rating: Summary: How to Become a Fairy Godmother Review: I wanted to make use of all of the research I had done in Ireland while writing the Powers books with Anne McCaffrey. Since Felicity Fortune, the fairy godmother from The Godmother, is Irish, it made sense that she would return to Ireland after her adventures, perhaps a bit drained. To bolster her up she takes along a girl from the first book who has decided being a beautiful princess is not socially relevant enough for her. She wants to be a godmother too. I became interested in the Irish Travelling People while I was there and so one of the human characters turned out to be a Traveller, as did all of the cats, however temporarily, when they went to bury The King of the Cats, one of my favorite folktales. The stories in this book are less familiar to readers, perhaps, than Cinderella, Snow White, and some of the more common ones in The Godmother. But I hope readers new to them will be as fascinated as I was with the Irish historio-mythic cycle. My other favorite tale was The Children of Lyr, about the four royal children transformed into swans. And of course, in keeping with the first book, the background is a major contemporary problem, not child or spousal abuse or homelessness, which of course do occur in Ireland as well as Seattle, but the Troubles, which one is not supposed to speak of, though everyone does.
Rating: Summary: An enchanted journey through Ireland Review: In this utterly delightful sequel to The Godmother Sno Qunatrill travels to Irleand to begin her apprenticeship. Irish mythology, history and politics are woven into the fabric of the story, with delightful characters, lots of wit and humour and an exciting, gripping plot.

Rating: Summary: Wonderful Characters!! I wanna meet my Godmother! Review: Sno got rid of her evil stepmother, but didn't find a prince, she decided to be a fairy Godmother herself. Set gorgeously in Ireland, this book describes her training to become a Godmother. It has the same deft twists of old stories into modern fantasy that worked so well for the rest of Annie's books.
Rating: Summary: Superb! A true delight to read! Review: Wow, this second book in the Godmother trilogy by Ms.Scarborough is even better than the first! It lets us peer deeper into the domain of Godmotherdom and even introduces us to the Queen of them All. If you enjoy felines, the lovely lilt of Irish brogue and fairy tales, this book will surely satisfy you! The dialog flows wonderfully even interspecies.
