Rating: Summary: Damned Good Book with one Gripe! Review: The "near future" predicition of this work is based in enough fact to scare the bejezus out of anyone who pays attention to current events! Character development is thin but acceptable! Plot is straight forward yet gripping! No Flowery prose just straight and true story telling... my only gripe is I feel there is much more story in some original manuscript... It almost seems like the editor was paying by the word and wanted to save some bucks or this novel was cut in two to get a second book! But all in all a good read (I read it in one night!)

Rating: Summary: Jerry Furland is the next Tom Clancy!! Review: The book "Transfer" is a near future look at the world. The author brings factual social events into play and takes it to the next level. These futuristic events are not "far off" when one looks at the policies being made today by our leaders. This Book brings home the fear of every citizen of a centralized informational system to track and monitor your life. A MUST READ this summer for anyone concerned with the state of affairs on the future of this country. Be prepared to read this book without stopping until you're done. I suggest that you start reading in the evening and spend a sleepless night wondering how close this book hits home to the path our nation's leaders are taking us.
Rating: Summary: Summary Review: The world is changing. A new economy has been set in motion. The transfer to a cash-less society is changing the lives of ordinary people. For those who are enrolled in the new economy the future is exceedingly bright."RENAISSANCE" was the jewel in Director Tim Thurston's crown. The cultural, societal, fiscal and financial impact of the dismantling of America's legal tender based on printed paper currency and minted coin was enormous. In effect, the government was wiping the slate clean. Digital currency placed the ultimate tool for social engineering solely in the government's grasp. Perhaps weapon was more apt a metaphor than tool. America's streets are safe and the nation's economy is booming. Utopia beckons. In the first decade of the new millenium mankind has finally triumphed over itself. Victory is at hand. Or is it?
Rating: Summary: Superb reading that you can't put down. Review: This author has succeeded in not only scaring me, but provoking serious thoughts as to if this might not actually be the future of the United States. I bought this book with the expectations that I would read it over a two or three week period; however, once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It is absolutely spell binding!!! One of the better books I've had the privilege of reading is Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six" and this book is on the same level as it. This author is fantastic with his story - he writes so vividly that you can literally see what's happening. What fascinates me is Mr. Furland's insight into the inner workings of our political infrastructure. I cannot say enough good things about this book but will end with a final note that this is a "must read" for our generation.
Rating: Summary: Furland is a prophet Review: This book is literally going to be our reality in a few short years. Furland clearly illustrates our not-so-distant future as individuals in a cash-less society. I urge everyone to read this book, not only for entertainment value, but so that people can be somewhat prepared for the future that is looming over us.
Rating: Summary: Just right Review: This book is quite fast paced with a lot of characters telling the story. Furland has a distinctive style of writing that grows on you as you read. He lets the reader draw his or her own conclusions. Far from what I expected, Furland is not selling an ideology or asking the reader to choose sides. Most refreshing. The way the author brings us from where we've been to where we are going hooks you right up front. Then, with a cast of characters ranging from the President of the United States to a crack whore in Minneapolis, this book is over way too soon. Although I note that there is to be two more volumes to this series, I wish the author would have just published all three together. Patience... The down side? I came away convinced that the plot is probably too close to home for comfort. That and a sinking feeling that there is little anyone can do to change the future. I keep reminding myself that it was just fiction. But it sure seems like it could really happen this way.
Rating: Summary: Transfer: The end of the beginning Review: This book took me from the present to nine years into the future with alarming clarity. I can easily believe this is the way it's going to go down. The logic is simple in a loud and blatant manner. The technology is ready or on the boards. The only thing lacking now,(today) is the political will. The author tells this important story through a mixed group of interesting characters, which left me hanging on the cliff, waiting for the sequel.

Rating: Summary: Transfer: The end of the beginning Review: This is an excellent read for those who are wrapped up in the Left Behind series though it's not Christian oriented. So much of this book is happening now that it's very thought provoking. My only negative comment is WHO EDITED THIS? Mr. Furland, I hope you have someone else do the editing and proofing. Typo's and verbage errors were a real distraction. I look forward to the next book in this trilogy but please, get another editor or perhaps another publisher. Your writing skills suffer as a result of sloppy proofreading and editing.
