Rating: Summary: Descent Review: Peter Telep, I believe, is a great writer. I've read this book several times over, and have been equally impressed each time. Each time I climbed into the cockpit of the Pyro GX in the book, it made me want to load up my copy of Descent and play the game like it was in the book. A great novel all around. You won't get bored with this one. I am currently reading Stealing Thunder now, the sequel to Descent. I recommend getting all three novels in the series, Descent, Stealing Thunder, and Equinox. You won't be disapointed.
Rating: Summary: Very well writin action packed, Review: REALL REALLY REALY GREAT! Action packed and not just blood and guts. Good story. Can't wait for Stealing Thunder!
Rating: Summary: Novelly refeshing Review: Refreshing for this aficionado of intensely technical SCI Fi... Fast paced action and reading... Interesting from cover to cover...The concept of invasion through compter virus throws stones at the evil WINTEL empire and the brain-PC I/O's portends the next frontier for forward thinking humans. Particularly intriguing were AI's utilizing human memories and emotions. However, like every Sci Fi written, Telep underestimates the complexity of 11 billion neurons with more interconnections than particles in the know universe. Never the less, I give Descent two opposable thumbs up and have named my latest AMD'ed PC "Telep" after Pournelle, Niven, Thomson, Turner and Clarke.

Rating: Summary: Best Sci-Fi Action I've read in a long time Review: Telep's "Descent" combines great adventure with explosive action and believable characters. The multidimensional plot within the characters made this book a constant page-turner. If it wasn't for school, I'd have read it in a day! The only reason it got a 4 was because it needed some slightly better editing.
Rating: Summary: Realistic for any descent player Review: Thanks for the book.. I read it in one sitting .... (i do that w/ most books if i can)... still very well done and i enjoyed the descriprtions of mechs.. and the guild bot was just anoying enough just like the game lol.. can't wait to read the next one!!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Amazing! Review: The first time I picked this book up, I was sceptical about it. I've read books based on computer games, and my opinion was that they'd all flop. I was wrong. One time is all you'll need to pick this book up, as from then on you'll be stuck to this book, and your family'll have to tear this from you kicking and screaming. The is the most accurate pc-game based book I've ever seen. From the initial plot to the actual missions, this riveting novel is sure to have you spell-bound for hours on end!
Rating: Summary: Inspired by a game, the book is a scifi fiction inspiration. Review: The most impressive thing about this book was the resistance to the usual clichés of the genre, while still managing to be an exciting scifi read. Characters are stereotypes of the fiction but the way Peter Telep has created them they are so much more. For most of the book anything could happen to anyone at any time and the reader is left sure who was going to get it next, and a lot of time what was going to happen next. There are some inspired scifi creations with all that is necessary for an exciting scifi read: military intrigue, company politics, automated rebellion, space ships, destruction, strange alien presences and more. This book has more intelligent ideas in than I have found in the last ten books I read of this kind, but at the same time it is an exciting and enjoyable read. Look out for Peter Telep, if he keeps coming with this standard of fiction he is going to take scifi fiction by storm. I picked up this book on holiday in Florida and I sure hope Telep's books have made it over to this side of the Atlantic.
Rating: Summary: Get it...Read it...Get the next one...Read it.... Review: The only problem is Peter should have started this series sooner. If you are a Descenter and haven't read this yet you are missing the Pyro. This should be the start of a very popular series. I hope. Definately 5+ Stars
Rating: Summary: Suprisingly... Good! Review: This is cool! It's the first videogame book that is worth reading. If you haven't played the game, don't worry. This book is an adventure all to itself. Nice work!
