Rating: Summary: Words cannot adequately express the eloquence of this book!! Review: I hear a great deal of drivel about how a book is for everyone, though many profoundly irritate me personally. This book, however, is ACTUALLY written to be read by everyone, everywhere!! I rather resent the heading on this page stating the reading level of this ageless classic as 8-12. I stumbled into this book when I was seven and enjoy it to this very day!! A book like this is so fascinatingly layered that age-leveling is obsolete. We are treated to a medly of life lessons intermixed with profound insight into our souls and our society. Throw in a dash of intoxicating humor, and you've got THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH!! This is one of those books that should be read be everyone. We'd all be the richer for it.
Rating: Summary: A book you will never forget. Review: It has been 18 years since I have read this book. Yet, it still remains one of my favorites. The storyline is very original and very captivating. Once you start you will be taken away to Milo's world, a world that will entertain you from start to finish. So anyone ages 9-90 I encourage you to read this book. You will be glad that you did.
Rating: Summary: one of my all-time favorites! Review: I don't what it is about this book that makes me want to read it a thousand times. It's just great! And it seems that everyone else who reviewed the book thought the same thing! It takes a really good book like this one to get me to read it a lot. Patricia Hermes' book "My Girl" is another book I have read a thousand times. So is John Grisham's "A Time To Kill". These three are my all-time favorites and I will keep reading them until my paperback copies fall apart!

Rating: Summary: Go for the funny action!!! Review: Hi! I'm William S. in the 3rd grade. Milo was a lonely boy. He never had any fun, but one day he got a package. Inside were a tollbooth and two coins. The coins were for the toll fee. Milo started out. Along his way he went to Dictionapolis where he met Humbug and Spelling Bee. He tried to rescue Sound and maybe even a few princesses. I recommend this book. IT'S GREAT!
Rating: Summary: Read and Learn, insight, insight, insight... Review: I read this book once a year whether I need it or not. It is "Human Nature 101". Characteristics of people are analogized through the eyes of a child. Analyzed with common sense and innocence that only a child's mind can offer. This is a wonderful, wonderful book. I have given away more copies than I can count.
Rating: Summary: It teaches you that life is exciting!!!!! Review: This book is about a little boy named Milo who's bored all the time. But one day something exciting and amazing happens to him which changes his life. You'll have to read the book to find out the story. By Katie Tucker and Ross Adair
Rating: Summary: I think you should read this book - I loved it!! Review: I liked how Milo had the car and set up the tollbooth and drove up to it and went into another land. Milo ends up being on a mission to free Rhyme and Reason to save the land.
Rating: Summary: A book that sucks you in! Review: I read The Phantom Tollboth by Norton Juster. This book is about a boy named Milo who thinks everything is boring. One day Milo finds a tollboth in his room amd drives through. Milo finds himself in a different world. He meets two brothers, one love's numbers and the other one love's letters. Reason and Ryhme left (Reason and Ryhme are two sisters who can make everything right), and they have been fighting which one is better ever since. Milo decides to try to rescue them, and that is the beginning of his adventure. On his way he meets a dog named Tock who travels with him and helps him an his way. I liked this book because I like different worlds, animals that can talk, people that can fly, and most of all, meeting exquisite charcters. So I would say, "GO TRY THIS BOOK FOR YOURSELF!" S. Glazer
Rating: Summary: I should have read this one sooner - fabulous! Review: I have seen this book on the shelf my whole life, but the title always kept me away. My nine-year old daughter got me to pick it up - wow, it was so funny and detailed. We are reading it again for the second time.
