Summary: Another great book by Ward
Review: I gotta say,James Ward rocks! I really,REALLY loved this book.Gamaliel is my new favorite charactor.Miltiades is great too.I've read alot of Forgotten Realms books,This is one of the best.I just wish Ward would continue this series,or maybe write a Gamaliel series(hint, hint). Thanks Mr.Ward, this book made me smile!!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Great book for begginers.
Review: I have read many Forgotten Realms books and I rate this one as a little above average becauuse although it did not sell very well it is a good book for those people just beginning their descent into the Realms. In fact the whole trilogy was my first. Although the other books are diffuclt to understand this one is not. Fare thee well wherever thee fare.

Summary: Ummm...NO!
Review: Pool of Radiance was entertaining even though it was simple; Pools of Darkness is just plain dumb. Maybe Jane Cooper Hong should've helped on this one too. The idea of a Red Mage powerful enough to transport an entire city to an underground cavern is hard to believe. However, if your imagination and faith in magic's power let you get over that, then you have to believe that he is too weak to conquer it himself and needs to rely on armies of humanoid thugs to do it for him. Obviously, Phlan's Captain of the Guard has read the player's handbook and DMG rulebooks from Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. Read the book and you will know what I mean.

I'm getting sick reviewing this book so I will quit.

Basically, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ONE!

Summary: Highly enjoyable
Review: This was one of my earliest fantasy reads and I got through it faster than I had ever read a book! The first chapter is one of my favourite opening chapters of all time. Although I have'nt read the first book I found the characters in this one very likeable. Pools of darkness I think is a classic example of good traditional high fantasy. Read it if you have too much spare time.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: I think it's a pretty good book!
Review: This was the first 'FR' book I read and I thought it was pretty good over all. It has a good cast of charactors and they are easy to like. If you are like me and did not read 'Pool of Radiance' first, then you still will be able to very easily follow this book when you read it. This book goes at a good pace. The fights are OK, I like how the characters are not always put in a fight were it's always a hundred to one and they still some how amazingly come out on top with little more then a small bump on there heads. If you are new to fantasy or are an old pro and don't need to worry about every last detail of a book to enjoy it then I would say that this is a good book to read.

Review: while i loved pool of radiance (the first FR novel I read) pools of darkness was a big disappointment. The combat scenes are similar to, but much less interesting than Bob Salbatore's and the novel lacks an interesting plot. The entire city of Phlan is kidnapped and Ren has to go look for it.
