Summary: A Good Quick Read
Review: This is a nice read. A small book with big ideas. Probably the most complete novel I've read in long while.

Summary: A hidden treasure!
Review: This is Oz Parvaiz's first novel and he shows the promise of becoming one of the great fantasy/religion fiction writers of our generation. While reading this novel you will discover a pleasant surprise and deeper meaning upon each page turn. Mr. Parvaiz does a wonderful job of building characters that are human, characters that you could step right into. He helps you discover meanings that you may have hinted at before, but you now see them in a whole new light. He uses the power of fiction to do exactly what you want it to do as a reader: to help you become someone else in the moments that you are reading, but take those experiences, and apply them to your real life. The perfect novel for those who love fantasy, are curious about all religions, and don't mind having to do a little bit of deeper thinking while reading. I highly recommend it!

Summary: Thought provoking novel
Review: This novel was a quick read for me, it was a true page-turner. I did have a second read and found that there is more to this book then one may realize. You easily see Parvaiz's ability to indirectly discuss today's social issues. I would highly suggest a second read of this book. I looked for other books by Parvaiz and was astonished to find that this may be his first book published, absolutely outstanding. FIVE STARS!!!!!

Summary: A great new novel from a great new writer.
Review: This novel, resembling in interesting ways a screenplay (I'd love to see this made into a film), was very hard to put down. Sibling rivalries, maternal ambition, religious vs. secular: these universal themes, resembling and no doubt influenced by civilization's great religious books, are presented in a refreshingly original way. The religious aspect is very relevant to current events both in the US and abroad. Though the story takes place far in the future, don't be misled; it is not Sci fi. I liked the writing style a lot as well: well paced, with interesting characters and subtexts. Parvaiz is a most promising new writer.

Summary: Urdin - Grasping novel from the start
Review: Urdin grasped my attention from page one. As I read the novel it became harder to put down as the plot continues to build on an emmotional and intelligent level. The novel's messages can certainly be applied in today's world. After reading the book, the news in our current political world seemed more interesting as I found myself making connections with the books ideas.

Summary: Thought Provoking and Thrilling
Review: Urdin is one of those unique novels that deals with deep philosophical issues, such as the existence of God, while engaging the reader in a breathtaking plot. The characters and the novel's climax are truly memorable.

Summary: Incredible
Review: Urdin is such a pleasure to read. From the minute you pick the book up you find yourself immersed in a world that could very well be your own. The characters, the cultures, the story are all so thought provoking and insightful that they make putting the book down such a difficult task. Such a incredible book.
