Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Pure Dead magic=Pfft. Review: Well I must say, I disagree with others. In my opinion, this book is not THAT exciting. Quote in book-'Should Lemony Snicket grow abit stale, here's the perfect antidote.' False. Just plain, plain false. Pure Dead Magic is very confusing and makes no sense at ALL. Lemony Snicket should "not" grow 'stale'. To me, this book is always heading right away into the events instead of letting us grip onto the book harder and try to figure out what will happen next. I pity this book, why did I bother wasting money on this...? Anywoo, Lemony Snicket literally 'Owns' over Pure dead magic, really.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Pure Dead Fun Review: What a nice surprise of a book! Humour that will appeal to all ages. It may appear a bit outdated in 10 years or so as computer technolgy changes faster than books can be printed but will still be a good read. Baby Damp manages to stay adorable even at her most disgusting, Titus and Pandora are typical 10 & 12 year old siblings and they live with a wonderful childhood array of storybook monsters as pets/guardians. The story line leaves quite a few loose ends (like what happened to the Don after his plastic surgery gone awry) but still holds the imagination quite nicely. One can only imagine what a hit-man known as Attila the Bun must be like or how a griffen with an upset stomach feels after eating smocked hiccup. Definitely worth a look!!
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Pure Dead Review: Without doubt not up to any standards. The writing is sloppy. Poor or absent logic. I can not really recommend it.
Graphic violence for violence's sake and not as part of the story. Who cares if a spider is enjoying herself sucking out fly juice? Even Stephen King makes sure that his writing is just in the realm of reality; that is what makes it scary.
In "The Spiderwick Chronicles" the characters are likeable or at least better fleshed out. They do not just rattle around for the sake of adding more pages to the book.
Do not assume the Lemony Snicket fans would enjoy this either as the story has no redeeming value. The biggest faux paw of all is assuming that the reader is so computer illiterate they would not notice the technology is lacking and the author is only using buzzwords.
I could go on and on about what makes for an interesting tale, however you get the idea that this series does not contain the "magic." It is "Pure Dead"
