Summary: Clever and Emtpy
Review: The blurb enthuses, "Harry Potter meets Lemony Snicket" but should mourn, "Disney meets Charles Adams... and wins."

A sheep in wolf's clothing: toothless, bland, and shamelessly derivative.

Summary: Drop Dead Funny
Review: The story begins at StregaSchloss. Three children, Damp (14 months), Pandora (9 years) and Titus (12 years). Their mother and their father have separated, and now the harassed mother is looking for a good nanny that can make french fries crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Damp immediately falls in love with the new nanny, Mrs. Flora McLachlan, and Titus and Pandora admit that her fries are tasty.
Meanwhile, the childrens' father, Luciano, has been kidnapped-by his own half brother, Lucifer. Lucifer has been after Luciano for twelve years, trying to get rid of him. Lucifer wants the money that has been left in the bank for Titus, and he has an evil scheme that involves Luciano signing a paper enabling Lucifer to steal Titus' money!
Pandora's rats are missing, and she has made a bet with Titus that she can find them in five days. If not, she has to swim across their moat. the very same moat that happens to contain a very large, very hungry crocodile named Tock. A crocodile that hasn't eaten for weeks...

Summary: Magic adventure
Review: This book by Debi Glori is a funny and interesting book. This
book talks about Damp, Titus, and Pandora, which are three kids that live in a freaky castle. Their mother and their father had a fight and their father disappears. Their mother hired a nanny to watch over the kids, but the kids hate her. Their lives became miserable. But little did they know, a great adventure befalls them when their little sister Damp shrunk and got sent as e-mail. What will happen? Find out yourself.

I like this book because it has an interesting plot. It is also very funny and it could keep you awake until two o'clock in the morning. It keeps you going and the ending is very good. This book is one of my favorite books I have ever read.

My favorite part is when Damp got shrunk and got sent in e-mail. I did not expect that part and I was very amaze when I read that part. Anyway, this is a book that everyone should read.

Summary: Pure Magic, Pure Funny
Review: This book is about a family who lives in a castle surrounded by a mote with a crocodile in it. They have a cook, Mary Bain, who doesn't know how to cook, a butler whose name is Latch and a nanny who is really not a nanny. The mom is struggling to learn her witchcaft, the sister shrinks everyone so tiny that the baby goes through an email to the web and the Strega Nona is over a hundred years old. She lives in a freezer. I enjoyed this book a lot because it had many adventures. Montana

Summary: Very Bizarre and Very Very Funny
Review: This book is about a family, the Strega-Borgia Family who have strange pets and very strange hobbies (like witchcraft!) The father is kidnapped by his half brother, the house is protected by a crocodile who likes to eat nannies and the baby is somewhere on the World Wide Web! I loved this book and I found it very funny.

Summary: spoiled by a little bit: 3.5 or 4
Review: this is a hilarious book, though too gross in some parts (but the author was probably trying to balance out the sickness and laughable bits). The plot was exciting and well thought of, but sometimes, the events or characters weren't described fully. It was disappointing in a way, because i expected a bit of background info....history about some of the characters.... but still, it made me want to enter the schloss household at least twice while reading this book. A frozen great x 6 grandmother sleeping in a refrigerator, 3 magical beasts drooling in the dungeons, a witch-mother and her 3 children, a divorced father, an italian power-hungry uncle, a computer virus, and a crocodile living in a moat... they all build up to a nice fantasy, and I can't say that this book was a waste of time, overall it was pretty good.

Summary: The Strega Borgia Family Is Different...
Review: This story is about one wizard's family. The dad, Luciano, the mom Baci and the kids: Titus, Pandora and Damp. Luciano is kidnapped by his own brother, the mother Baci is studying to be a witch and Titus is always on the computer and Pandora looses her pet, the Turrentula that wears lipstick and beasts live in the basement... Just to describe a few things. I love this book because it was very different and full of surprises. Everyone should read it. It is so funny! Eleanora

Summary: Fun and mystery at StregaSchloss
Review: Titus and Pandora Strega Borgia live in Scotland at Strega Schloss, the family castle with their sister Damp, Strega Nonna, who is cryogenically frozen, their Mother, and various servants and pets. Their father has been kidnapped by his half brother, but the family thinks that he has abandoned him. Naturally, Mother needs help managing(she is taking witchcraft courses and is very busy) but the pet crocodile, Tock, keeps eating prospective nannies. That is until Mrs. Mac Lachlan comes along. She had no problems dealing with crocs, dragons, or yetis, or any of the other daily events in the Strega Borgia day. Titus however, accidentally sends Damp into the internet, and they need all the help that they can get.

This is a very entertaining and quick moving children's story. The characters are funny and surprisingly real. The next adventure of the StregaBorgia clan is something to look forward to.

Summary: A funny and entertaining fantasy.
Review: Titus, Pandora, and their baby sister Damp live in a spooky mansion and had decent lives until their father disappeared from them. Unaware that their father has actually been captured as a pawn in an insidious plot, the kids don't know if they'll ever see their parents back together ever again. They don't like their new nanny, and their lives have become miserable. Not only are they upset -- the crocodile who guards the moat hasn't eaten anyone in a long time, and neither has the big spider in their attic. And their grandmother, preserved in a block of ice for centuries, certainly has a lot to complain about. But little do the kids know what adventure is in store for them all -- and adventure that begins long before their baby sister is accidentally shrunk and sent in an e-mail. Pure Dead Magic is a funny, dark, and witty fantasy in a planned trilogy by Debi Gliori, but not among the most enjoyable books out there. However, it's very hilarious and fairly entertaining.

Summary: Pure magic!
Review: Welcome to Strega-Schloss, the ancestral family home of the Strega-Borgias in the Scottish Highlands. Unfortunately, things aren't going very well for the inhabitants of Strega-Schloss. Signor Strega-Borgia has been kidnapped by his mobster brother (but everyone else just thinks he's left); Signora Strega-Borgia is failing miserably at her beginning witchcraft lessons; Titus (age 12) just wants to sit at his computer and blow things up all day, but when a tussle with his sister, Pandora (age 10), ends with their baby sister, Damp, being shrunk and e-mailed into cyberspace, they know they've got trouble. Add to the mix a new nanny with a mysterious laptop computer that can work miracles, three hungry monsters in the basement, and a cryogenically frozen aunt who is beginning to thaw - oh, and don't forget the guard alligator in the moat - and you're left with a rollicking adventure of a story that is half Harry Potter, half Lemony Snicket, and 100% fun! Debi Gliori's sarcastic wit is guaranteed to make you laugh, no matter what age you are. Pure Dead Magic is simply that - pure magic!
