Review: I've just completed two of Dickey's books and I'm working on the next. "Friends and Lovers" was an awesome book. This was my first time reading a book from Dickey and it caught my attention quickly. I too kept it at my side so I could read it every chance I was given. I enjoyed each character of the book and the rolls they played. This book is so real I have to remember I read the story not saw the movie. I don't want to give away any important parts, I think enough has been mentioned already. Too much if you ask me but I hope you enjoy it if you haven't already! Also, read them in order, they all tie together somehow.

Review: All I can say is read the story. You'll feel like these characters are your personal friends. As usual, Dickey does a marvelous job telling love stories and all the drama that love entails.

The book Friends and Lovers, written by Eric Jerome Dickey is one of the best books I have ever read. The book had a good beginning and great descriptions throughout the whole story. The ending was semi good, but altogehter the story line was great. If you like to read Black Literature or love stories, this book is for you. I recommend this book because I did not put it down. This book touched real life relationship situations, and it told how life is precious, so live every minute of it like it were your last minute. I loved this book and all the characters...I give this book five stars for its excellent story line and use of ideas.

Review: Wow, I really enjoyed Sister, Sister but Friends and Lovers is unhinged! Hooked from beginning to end, I could not put this book down. We should all have best friends like Debra and Shelby and Leonard and Tyrel. Unfortunately, it took such a tragedy for Shelby and Tyrel to see the light but isn't that the way of life. Excellent story EJD.

Review: Eric Jerome Dickey's second novel was a quick read for me because there was no pretentiousness with the characters and their stories flowed with ease. Often, true love can be derailed by something as insignificant as a simple misunderstanding and our pride can sometimes get in the way of reconciliation. With Tyrel, Shelby, Leonard and Debra, all ranges of emotions were reached, and the best part about this was that it wasn't anything that couldn't have happened to anybody on the street. All events felt real, and Mr. Dickey definitely hit mark with this one!

Review: Talking about a wonderful book! This was my first by Eric Jerome Dickey, but I'm on my way to the bookstore now. friends and lovers was an exceptional book, very well written and the characters were all true to life. I don't live in L.A., but have visited several times, so I enjoyed the references to the different locations and street names. I'm a sap for anything sad, (i.e., movies, real life, books, etc.), this one had me crying the entire end of the book, which meant that I was totally engrossed in the events and characters.

Everyone should have a friendship like the ones that Debra and Shelby/Tyrel and Leonard shared! Mr. Dickey, keep up the good work and please come and visit Black Images Book Bazaar in Dallas soon!

Review: A friend loaned me this book to read. I read it, and then I purchased my own copy to read the next time(s) that I want to read it. This book is about the ULTIMATE Friendship. Everyone should have a friend that they can be so relaxed with during a time of joy or sorrow. It remains my favorite book and I've been reading for many years.
