Summary: I read the book in one sitting - I couldn't put it down!
Review: I loved the book so much, I recommended it to a friend so she took my copy. I got it back after 2 months, along with 4 new Dickey fans. The characters were so real - I actually laughed out loud as well as grieved along with them. When the book ended I felt like four of my closest friends were gone. I'm looking forward to reading more of Mr. Dickey's work - Much congratulations on this successful book!

Review: By now one has to know that F&L is without a doubt the African American romance novel of the 90's if not the century. I just want to let the world know that I believe EDJ is just warming up. Like wine, Mr. Dickey you can only get better with time. F&L is all consuming. I could not put it down. I cried and laughed with characters I felt I'd known forever. If the truth be told I was so sad when I read the last line. I didn't want it to end. But, like with any fine thing, all good things must come to an end. Thank you, EJD for the nights you've kept my company with Shelby's pathetic excuses and decision making and Tyrel's cockey and macho attitude. And the days that you helped to run so much smoother with Debra, the peacemaker and Leonard the devoted one. You are a rare commodity, EJD. Yes, you are. I eagerly await anything writings you have to offer. To fans that read the reviews let me say that if you enjoyed EJD's, Sister Sister...you will love F&L. And, because you enjoyed Sister Sister and loved F&L...you will die for Milk IN My Coffee. Get it today. Peace

Summary: This book is fantastic!!!!!
Review: I just got through reading FRIENDS and LOVERS and it has been the best book I've read so far. Eric Jerome Dickey did a good job with this one and I could really relate to the characters. I felt as though I knew them. There were times when I thought I was watching a movie instead of reading a novel and I even caught myself crying a few times. Not once did Dickey bash brothers or sisters. He just kept it on a real level with real black relationships.

Review: Friends and Lovers was the first book I have read by Mr.Dickey. I really enjoyed the book I ended up buying the book and suggested the book to my friends. Now I am reading Sister,Sister and I am actually getting into the book. Sister, Sister is a book about what is actually going on in todays society. I can't wait to read Milk in my Coffee..........

Review: Friends and Lovers gives readers a true-to-life look at four friends and their love affairs. Adequately identities with African Americans and the problems they face finding true love. Interesting how a misunderstanding between Shelby and Tyrel can have the power to destroy such a wonderful union. Shows what a lack of faith in your partner can do. Extremely sad when Leonard died. Scary to think that if you find true love it won't last forever. Overall, this book is intense and hard for the reader to put down.

Summary: A MUST-READ book that captures relationships in the '90's
Review: I have read all three of Eric Dickey's books, and this, to me was the best of the best. I laughed out loud, and cried as well. His characters are compelling, and very real. I found it difficult to put down, and put everything aside to finish reading it. The only thing I stopped reading for was to keep checking out the very fine photo on the back of the book. I can't wait to read his next work, and I hope there will be many more. Eric Dickey is an excellent writer, and a literary treasure.
