Rating: Summary: Best Book ever!!!! What a wonderful author!!!! Review: I am a tremendous fan of yours. I have read every book that you have written and am anxiously awaiting the new arrival. I enjoy your writing and am currently writing a term paper on how you can capture a women's feelings on paper Your male perspective in writing about women's feelings and relationships has shown me that men do understand a woman's feelings. I thank you for showing me that at least one man can be sensitive enough to understand. I was so happy!! And was very pleased that it kept my interest the same as Sister Sister. Now I go around saying to friends, "did you give him the three keys" or "he has the three keys". You are definitely a wonderful writer. Your writing makes the characters friends, colleagues, acquaintance that you know. Thanks again for coming into my life through your writing. Don't ever stop!!!!
Rating: Summary: The most touching book I've ever read Review: Friends and Lovers is filled with everything you could look for in a book. It has characters that you can relate to, love, hate, jelousey, and major attitude. The charachters are easy to follow, and are completely different from one another. I liked the on again off again romances and the extra romances in between. This book definatly wastes no time carefully describing each others personalitys and backgrounds. Backgrounds and lifes you can relate to. The only thing I didn't care for in this book, is some parts dragged on a little. But I still completly love the book; I've read it at least 7 times with in the past year. This book makes you appreciate what you have because you might lose it someday.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic, refreshing break from the norm! Review: This book is a must-read for anyone who is tired of the "blame game documentaries." Dickey, in his excellent style of writing, introduces us to characters that are easy to relate to. I couldn't put this book down, and I'm looking forward to reading more of his work.
Rating: Summary: Damn Good! Review: Eric Jerome Dickey is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors. I never have to worry about getting to a point in his book where I'm even considering putting it down. I love his writing and I'll be sure to read Milk in My Coffee. But about Friends and Lovers, he kept me right there wondering, are they going to do this? Why did she do that? When is she going to do this? I was steady flipping pages and hated it when I was finally at the end. And I passed it on to a male friend who is loving it as well. This is a definite good buy!
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!!!!!!!! Review: Mr Dickey has a great understanding of women, and the way they think. Listen up men, because this brother has hit the nail.
Rating: Summary: Hang on--you are in for an emotional roller coaster ride!! Review: A burst of energy, the feeling of excitement from a roller coaster, or the highness that a hot air balloon takes you on are a few ways to describe the feeling you can get after reading one of Eric's books. Never has there been a time that I have been let down. Eric knows how to keep the audience captivated with his many twists and turns of excitement! This has been my favorite book thus far. It makes you laugh and cry before you reach the end. Once you have read one of Eric's books you are hooked--you become an Eric Jerome Dickey book addict. What I especially enjoy about Eric's writing style is that it flows like a river and keeps you wanting for more. Keep up the good work and I am anxiously awaiting for "Cheaters" to hit the bookstores.
Rating: Summary: A sad but lovely love story Review: As always, I am a huge fan of EJD. This was one of his finest books. Great character development, written with real feelings. When you tire of the same old, same old...boy meets girl, falls in love and lives happily everafter genre....read this. It is fresh, real and heartfelt. I loved it. Can't wait for the next book to come out....keep the pen to paper...I am waiting patiently.
Rating: Summary: You won't want to put it down! Review: I was given this book to read in a crowded airport terminal and did not put it down practically until I had fininshed. My spontaneous outbursts of "No, she didn't!" and "I heard that!" [or "True that!" to Tyrel and Leonard] caused the sistah sitting next to me to ask what I was reading. I told her that I really wasn't trying to do a commercial for this book but that this was truly a GOOD book. Eric Jerome Dickey, this was truly a treat. I was trying to think of who would play the different parts in the movie. I am looking forward to reading the other books.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievable Review: Friends and Lovers starts off good but then it reaches a point where you say "Who the hell cares?" I hate when the plot gets mangled up by sub-plots that no one cares about. Dickey has a tendency to tack on "I ain't got no daddy" or "My daddy is no good" subplots that always makes the story go in a dull and unnecessary direction. I usually skip those few chapters and try to find the more exciting parts. Other than the boring sub-plots, F&L is an okay read.
Rating: Summary: Great Book even though I liked "Coffee" better Review: I recently read EJD's book "MILK IN MY COFEE" and was so impressed with it that I decided to go back and read each of his other novels. Friends and Lovers was also a great story. I felt that it teaches us that our lives are so precious and we should recognize and embrace love because we may not be here tomorrow. I have been Tyrel, in love with someone, and too stubborn to forgive and live. Its hard to forgive when youre stubborn but if there's real love there, you shouldnt let it leave. This story teaches us to value our short lives, and our friends and lovers. But as much as I loved this book I loved MILK IN MY COFFEE better. Keep up the good work Eric!
