Summary: A wonderful fantasy book!
Review: As an avid fan of both Regency Romances and sci-fi/fantasy, I found this book delightfully entertaining.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: good book, great characters.
Review: although I haven't read the first book, or any of Wrede's other books, I like the magical romance at the end of Magicians Ward. made me wish I was Kim. I also liked the way she did not want a come-out ball or being presented during the Season. I would not have wanted to be presented or had a come-out ball either. I liked the book because it was a great comparison to me.

Summary: This is a must read book for anyone!
Review: Despite being a teenager (14) I love this book! I just started reading fantasy books ,( or any books for that manner) a year age for a reading project. My mom gave me a book to start on called CAUGHT IN CRYSTAL and sence then I love fantasy. I devloped a passion for Dragonlance books and felt that nobody could brake the standard that CAUGHT IN CRYSTAL and the Dragonlance series made in my mind; that was untill my mom came home with Mairelin The Magician and The Magician's Ward from the book store. After reading Kim's street wise catty remarks, Mairelon's ( a.k.a. Richard Merrill) boyish charm added to any problem, and all of Hunch's disapproving looks, I didn't waste any time starting The Magician's Ward. In the secound book I once agian fell in love with the charcters and the masterfully woven plot. So if ever want a book you can't put down I highly sugest The Magician's Ward.

Summary: Very Amusing, light and bright fantasy/Regency novel.
Review: This novel is a wonderful mix of two genres; the author has managed to take the best of both worlds and with an adept hand, keep the illusion in place! Her characters are likeable and believable. I am not a fantasy or Regency novel fanatic, though I have read some in both genres, and Patricia Wrede's novel has won my complete admiration. I admire her _Book of Enchantments_ also, that is the only other title of hers that I have read so far. I look forward to reading many of her other novels and stories now!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fantasy with a Mystery twist
Review: This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. When I began it immediately after ready Mairelon the Magician, I could not believe that it could actually compete with it. It does. Read it. You won't be sorry.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I am an entiraly devoted fan
Review: I read all of her other bookds except Sorsery and Cecilia. I loved each and every one. I read this one first before Mairelon the Magician but I don't think it really matters because, wow! Did I like this book. So far I think that this is one of my favrites of her books. I would definetly recomed it. To anyone, personally if thiere is a movie director out there, make this and MAreilon the Magician into a movie!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great!
Review: I didn't know there was going to be a sequel, and I didn't recognize it was linked to MAIRELON THE MAGICIAN until I thought "hey, I know that guy!" It is a bit slow in the begining, and since it was a long time since i read the prequel, I had forgotten the characters and stuff. Read them side by side, and follow closly, then they are best!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book is so good!
Review: Althow I did not find this to be quite as funny as Marilon, the story made up for it. After i read the first one I was realy hopeing for somthing to hapen betwen Kim and Marilon and boy did it ever!!! It might be slightly sadistic but I love characters who are tormented by love. And Kim and Marilon are definetly tormented! The begining of the book is a little slow but the story continuse to pick up speed as you read until it is going at an almost unbelevabel fast pace. This would make a wonderful seares maby another book set befor the wedding ( I want to see what Andure says when he comes home and hears about all that has happened!) I think that this and Marilon are Patricia C Wred's two best books. Just the right mix of silly and serious.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A wonderful book but not the best
Review: An interesting and good sequel, better than Marilon the Magician, but It was difficult to follow and a bit predictable. Wrede is one of my favoite authors, but in my opinion this is not one of her best works. but still, it was worth reading it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great followup...
Review: After reading Ms. Wrede's first novel in this duet, I couldn't wait to get my hands on Magician's Ward. It was quite satisfying and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If anything, it was better than the first. The characters stay true to their personalities, and the plot twists in unpredicted ways. The obvious changes in Kim's perception of Mairelon are funny and made me hide many a smiles. I'd recommend this book to anyone, especially if they've read the first [Mairelon the Magician].
