Review: It's cute, but not much more. It'd be all right to borrow from the library, but it's not worth the money to buy it.

Colbert doesn't seem to have put much research into it. It has a few interesting facts in it, but most you can find online. It's either a children's book, or an irritatingly condescending book for teenagers.

Tone - Colbert writes his work as if it is fact. It is not, it is speculation. Some of it is very good speculation, but none the less....

Review: Note:Eventhough I`ve, previously reviewed this book, I'm unable to find my reveiw. Good intro, to the worlds of magic and myth. however i don`t recommened spending, days in the library (I did)looking up and reading about myth and magic. Most of the books contradict each other, very confusing.I recommened "Harty Potter's Schoolbooks", ["The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter" are based on "Schoolbooks".] "A Sorcerer's Companion".And "The Magical worlds of The Lord of The Rings". to satify curiosity.

Review: This book is an excellent resource for finding expanding meanings on the terminology in the Harry Potter series. Unless you or a relative has been studying mythology, folklore, etc., there is a lot of valuable meanings you are missing from the Harry Potter series. This book will help fill in those gaps.

This is a great book for any Harry Potter fan.

Review: Any fan of the Harry Potter series will enjoy this book by David Colbert. Not only are there explanations for names and events from the Potter novels, but Colbert also discusses many mythological connections associated with the story itself, in a clear, question and answer based format.

Review: Way back when, I remember a time when there were only two HP guide books. I checked this out of the library hoping it would help me cope with my Harry Potter depraivity. I enjoyed it, for a time, but quickly it grew dull. I was too familiar with its boring illustrations and skimming explanations. It didn't help. For those of you who read the old one with the old cover, don't bother reaching for that cool book with the cool cover. It's the same dull thing. For those of you who have not read it I tell you only this: you're better off.

Review: I'll admit it, I'm absolutely hooked on Harry Potter, so this book was an absolute thrill. It contains information on Nicholas Flemmel (who was a real alchemist), and how he actually searched for something called the Philosopher's Stone. Not only that, you'll learn about the different creatures from the world of Harry Potter, including Cornish Pixies, and Basiliks. There is even a complete chapter about the first British Wizards.

This is a must-have book for all fans of Harry Potter. If you want to keep everyone happy during those long, in-between waits for the next Harry Potter novel, fill your days reading this, and, of course, "The Sorcerer's Companion" by Allan Zola Kronzek & Elizabeth Kronzek. You won't be disappointed.

Review: Once you're into the book, you regret not having tried yourself to research all the names and characters. The point is, it's simply amazing how each character ompletely corelates to his source, origin, or any similar event in history. Rowling rocks!
This book provides fascinating, fun information and I couldn't help diving into the Potter books immedietely after discovering something new in "The Magical Worlds of Harry Potter"
