Summary: A good read, but hard to believe.
Review: I like the theme of this book, but the author relies on too many cliches to excite the readers interest. The story is basically evil and greedy politicians conspire with the liberal anti-gun media elite to do away with the constitution and bill of rights. Add into the mix the Fidelistas (Mexican invading army) and the Patriots (a group of, well, patriotic Americans wanting to fight the evil government and bring back America's greatness) And you have all the elements fo a great story. But, this particular story doesn't go anywhere, and the book ends without any resolution. I suppose that is left up to the imagination of the reader. Maybe the author intends to write a sequel? If so, I would buy it.

A book with a similar theme, but that is carried out with a lot more convincing detail is "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross. I highly recommend Unintended Consequences.

Summary: This book left me wanting more...couldn't put it down!
Review: It doesn't take much more than a love of country, a dislike of being lied to and knowing that we're being taken for granted to want to read this book. Set largely in the Southwest, it provides the perfect blend of biting political humor, wit, patriotism and fast paced action that leaves you wanting more. This is definitely a "can't put it down" book.

Summary: What if liberal statism goes unchecked - read and see!
Review: Mr. Phillips' answer to the question will not be a delight to any knee-jerk liberal and may well upset some moderates and conservatives. When power is centralized for its own sake, ideologies all tend to look like fascism. Unfortunately, liberalism - with its motto - "this if for your own good" is particularly dangerous because it can appear so well intentioned.

Aside from some very well done excursions into the darkest Ozarks and Washington in the District of Chaos, Fall of Freedom is set in New Mexico. Mr. Phillips has an obvious love and understand-ing both of the land and its people.

Mr. Phillips characters - in particular his strong Hemmingwayesque women - and his villians (not always exclusive categories)are well done and believable.

If you think the Clintons are the greatest thing since sliced bread, you will not like this book. If, however, the name Clinton conjures up the Beast of the Apocalyspe, then settle in for a great evening's read.

Review: Perhaps the best way to sum up my book is to say that, like "1984" or "Brave New World," it combines a satirical view of society in the near future with an exciting adventure story. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Summary: The book is fascinatingly current and a great read.
Review: The descriptions of old Santa Fe were reminiscent of my visits there. The characters are well developed and very believeable. The scenario is frightingly realistic and should make the honest reader think twice.

Summary: Showing what we should know...
Review: This book is perfect in describing what is happening and what would happen if we keep the same corrupt administration we have now! Proving that the government should be as limited as possible, it fueled myself and my political club members at college to work the polls hard for good candidates. It is an easy to follow read and keeps you wondering what the last three pages of the book holds!

Review: When "Patriot Radio is on the air" my friends and I listen. We are still trying to stake out our own political philosophies and D. Michael Phillips does a great job in assisting us. I would recommend this book to any college- aged student wanting to strengthen their grasp on the American political economy.
