Some of the things that i think were supposed to be shocking i had already guessed long before. It was an interesting read but i thought that it had more potential and could have been a lot better.

Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Teases ones's mind! Review: In this book Pete Hautman wrote about Jack's memories being piles of yarn belonging to a tapestry but where the threads belong in the weaving he didn't know. The design in this story is woven so complex that you can't make it out until the end. From the beginning of this book I felt I had to know the end.
Complete attention is essential, but by the end you will be rewarded with the knowledge, and, like me believe in the impossible. Elizabeth Schultz, 6th Grade, Highland Elementary School.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book will reach out and grab you. Review: Like the dying old grandfather in the opening chapter, Mr. Was will reach out, grab you by the throat and not let go until it's over. I thoroughly enjoyed the complicated plot structure. I had to stay up until 2 A.M. to finish the book. Mr. Was leaves you with the satisfaction of having been swept away and given an adventure like none other. The ins and outs of the time travel kept me thinking about it for days on end. Even when the story is over, it lingers in your mind, continuing the adventure.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Mr.Was Review: Mr. Was by: Pete HautmanMr. Was by Pete Hautman was a very good book. I enjoyed the characters and the many different settings. I don't recommend reading this book if you are an impatient person and don't have a lot of time because it is confusing and hard to understand at some points. It is a fiction book mixed with some mystery and a lot of confusing twists. After a tragic family incident, the main character, Jack, finds a door that will lead him 50 years into the past. For nearly a half of a century, Jack has to wait to take back what happened to his family. He meets new friends, more enemies, and the girl of his dreams. Now on his own, Jack has to learn to be responsible, take care of himself, and stay out of trouble.
