Summary: It was Entertaining
Review: I loved the "Forever and Always" Book and the "Forever" book, so of course I was happy that Darci was in this story even with her small part. I love Darci, I can't wait to find out what happen to her husband. What's taking you so long Jude? Any way back to Holly, I like these Montgomerys and these Taggarts. They have interesting lives. And when you have money life it seems is so much fun. Sex, Sex, and more Sex, It was fun. A little corny in some places but a good summer read. I kinda of thought Jude would have sent her Holly back in time just to get the feel of that era but she didn't and the book stilled worked. So read it and enjoy, don't look for too much, it's a book.

Review: I loved the book, though by the cover, it looks to be a Christmas romance novel, but as it says on the back flap, "The answer is unveiled on a starry Christmas night...", other than that, there is no romance due to Christmas, other than the fact that they had sex on a pile of gold and jewels on Christmas night inside of a cave(with a dead man above them). But, hey, it's a romance novel, and NOT REAL, so the other people who wrote the reviews about them having sex within the first hour of meeting, well, all I can say, FICTION, ROMANTIC, FANTASY!!! I liked it, even though the end was over too quickly and the fact that Lorrie murdered two people just because he got mad at them? Was he a psycho or gay or what? His character could have been developed more. And maybe Holly could have realized how jealous her step sister was? I just think this book was written too fast and I hope there is a sequel that goes into more depth!

Summary: A Nice Light Read!!!
Review: I must admit to throughly enjoying this read by Ms. Deveraux. Again we visit with the Taggert/Montgomery Clan in this holiday read.

Hollendar (Holly) Latham has two loves. The first is for any building constructed before the Revolutionary War and Lorrie Beaumont her first childhood crush. Holly thinks that she may finally be able to have both her loves to herself after all of this time. That is until Nick Taggert saves her from herself and totally changes the way she thinks and feels after a weekend of love and laughter.

Nick is tired of women that play coy, pretend that he is all that they want when in reality all they really want is entrance into the best family and all the perks that come with that appointment. So he is totally surprised when he finds and rescues Ms. Holly and finds that she is more then just a pretty face. She makes him laugh at not only life but peoples perceptions. After spending the weekend with her he is not quite ready to let her go waltzing back into Lorries life (she explains her hopes and dreams during the weekend) and plans a way to show her exactly what she could be missing if she decided to go with her first love and not door number two...Nick.

This was a very lighthearted read with romance, love, mystery and that special something that makes a Jude Deveraux book a Jude Deveraux book. If you are a long time fan of this very talented author you will not want to miss this read, if you are new to Ms. Deveraux you can't go wrong with cutting your romantic teeth on this one!

Summary: good quick book
Review: I think this book was great. It got right to the point and didn't drag out with long boaring details. If you want to read a good book with all the trimmings that make a good book without haveing to spend 2 or 3 days reading on it, this is the book to get. Can easily be read in a few hours and hard to put down with all the constant action.

I would highly recommend reading this one and I hope that she does a series of Holly books just like she did with Darci and the Forever series. She has a lot of material from this book that she could dig deeper into and make several more books stem from this one.

Bottom line...this book was great read it.

Summary: If this wasn't a Jude Deveraux book...
Review: I would have thrown it across the room! Really.

Stupid characters in books annoy me - and Holly really takes the cake. Supposedly she's a "prude" but actions speak louder than words:

1. Falls into a pit and strips down to her panties to attempt to make a rope to get out.
2. Has sex with a stranger approx. less than one hour after meeting. Within approx four hours has sex another three times with same stranger who doesn't learn her first name until after she leaves.
3. This same stranger finagles a job at her Dad's house, as a gardner, to get closer to her - which to me would yell "stalker" but to her it just says "Run out into the yard and have sex against a fountain."
4. Is in the attic of a house that doesn't belong to her, going through someone else's papers, and decides to disrobe down to her underwear because she's hot.

Okay, I've just got to stop there otherwise I could just go on until I ran out of the maximum word space. But you get the idea. She's an idiot and just a bit of a tramp.

I love Jude Deveraux. I've read all her books. The amount of sex in them has never bothered me before but this is really going overboard. I was literally skipping pages and *still* coming to sex scenes! Honestly, I couldn't tell you what the story was about because it was basically just two people having a lot of sex.

(...) if the story doesn't stand up without all the sex, perhaps it's not that good of a story to begin with.

Summary: Short...
Review: It was short. There wasn't really a plot and it mainly revolved around the sex scenes. It was okay but it doesn't meet the author's usual stantards.

Summary: Dissapointed
Review: It's sad I was so looking forwrd to another of Jude Deveraux's story this one let me down.

I didn't buy it, thank goodness. I checked it out and returned it in the same day. I didn't finish reading it because it was awful within in the first five chapters they had already had sex and that's what it was sex . There was no emotional involvement betseen the two. I don't think they even knew each others name.

Summary: STORY ELEVATED BY READER
Review: One of the many advantages of an audio book is that it can sometimes lift a story from mediocre to entertaining simply by virtue of the reader's ability. Such is the case with Jude Deveraux's latest, "Holly."

Jennifer Wiltsie gives such an enchanting performance that one almost loses sight of how thin the plot really is. She imbues a rather prosaic tale with passion and suspense.

When still almost a child, 13 years of age, Hollander "Holly" Latham fell in love with Lorrie Beaumont the legatee to Belle Chere, a historic North Carolina plantation. His mother had died in childbirth leaving the period estate to Lorrie.

Seque to ten years later when Holly convinces her parents to buy Spring Hill Plantation, a stone's throw from Belle Cher. Lorrie is still very much in Holly's heart until she meets a handsome (of course) stranger, Nicholas Taggert.

Unbeknownst to Holly Nick has quite a past. Nonetheless, she is smitten. Whom does she choose, Lorrie or Nick? Reaching that decision isn't as easy as it might seem as Holly learns secrets that drastically affect her future.

"Holly" is an unimaginative story elevated by a fine vocal performance.

Summary: Don't judge by the cover
Review: The cover is nice and sophisicated. I didn't really think it was going to be a Christmas related story, so that didn't throw me off.

As other reivews state, this story does have a lot of sex, a very 21st century, realistic type. Hero and Heroine lust at first sight. Know each other's position and expect not to meet after one-night stand. Yet, they didn't just have sex, they actually TALKED!! They argue & joke with each other, yet both know each other's meaning behind the words. Their secrets didn't come between their love and their words didn't come between their lust.

So overall, a lot of fight and make up. That's what I would call magic. I don't see a lot of author who's able to express Hero & Heroine's love like this book can.

It's a very good read, if you... don't mind alot of sex and mystery.

Summary: Just Awful
Review: This book could be taken directly from one of those soft-core porn movies they show on Cinemax. Just two good-looking people having sex for no apparent reason. (...)
