Assassin's Blade : Magic Legends Cycle II, Book I

Summary: Disappointing
Review: Assassin's Blade was the first Magic novel I had read, as I was interested in beginning the series. With a concept that could have been truly interesting and exciting, the book simply did nothing.
The novel commences with the Emperor's assassin Lord Dark receiving a message to erupt war and conquer more lands. The Imperial Champion Tetsuo and his companions set out to stop him, as they travel to distant lands.
I was expecting Lord Dark to be a fascinating character, a rich villain. However, he ended up as a one-dimensional character that did absolutely nothing. Readers will find themselves not caring for the lead, Tetsuo, or the afflicted companion. No developement occurs with any of them, and they stay as they are. The entrance of the giantess is silly and pointless. The Chelonians are interesting, though we learn nothing of them.
On the brighter side, there were battles aplenty and a good bit of mystery surrounding the enemies. In conclusion, some of the Tolkien knock-off's, like this book, of the fantasy literary world have gotten to the point where they are no longer enjoyable. This book could have been so much more, though chose not to.

Summary: A story of treachery and intrigue.
Review: The characters in this book, Lord Dark(the Assassin) and Umezawa(the Champion) are the two main characters. Both work for the Emperor of Madara and both have awesome magic powers and abilitys. Lord Dark is the evil villian you love to hate, and Umezawa is the honorable champion you wish you could be. The book
is written from both perspectives, Lord Dark's and Umezawa's which I enjoyed. What really is interesting is the mysterious Emperor who behind the scenes seems to pit his assasin against his own champion in the pursuit of conquering other nations. This book is the beginning of a great trilogy, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes having truly evil and truly good characters battling it out. Also, on a minor note I like the matte finish on the book. It looks alot better than the glossy covers of the past.

Review: this book is one of the best books i have ever read. This book is the only book i have ever read but still the best. I have played the card game and the video gmae and i think that this was one of hte best games ever created. i deffinitly recomend this book to anybody.
