Summary: Great Collectoin from the master
Review: Great collection of shorts by Robert Silverberg, probably the greatest living scifi author. Has both some of his major award winning stories(Enter a Soldier) as well as very hard to find stories from his early career. Tremendous bredth. Three cheers!

Summary: They say it works on Pocket PC, but it doesn't
Review: I'm sure the book is fantastic, but you can't read this with Pocket PC. You have to activate MS Reader in order to download this title, but you can't activate Reader on Pocket PC (i.e. Jornada or other handheld PDA)

Summary: Great Short Stories from the Master
Review: I've always been a Silverberg fan but I've never read his short stories -- only the novels, which are outstanding. This e-book opened my eyes. His imagination and writing style are so fantastic. You will be amazed.

Summary: Silverberg continues to amaze
Review: Silverberg is terrific, whether in short form or when writing novels such as Lord Valentine's Castle. Highly recommended!

Summary: Excellent Science Fiction Reading
Review: This inexpensive yet fairly voluminous collection of short stories by an acknowledged master in the genre of science fiction, Robert Silverberg, is just the thing for introducing users of Pocket PCs to the world of e-reading. Stories from every nook and cranny of Silverberg's obviously far-traveling mind leaves something online for every reader enjoying Science Fiction, and if it happens to be one of the first choices for the downloading e-reader, they no doubt are now firmly hooked; keep producing books of this quality for e-readers and simply continue to reel them in. :-) What a thorougly enjoyable way to read a good book! Both this specific book, along with the used-to-be-science-fiction reading process, are highly recommended.

Summary: Outstanding Story Collection - Problematic E-Book Format
Review: This is an OUTSTANDING "Best-Of" story collection. The brilliant "Enter a Soldier. Later: Enter Another" by itself makes this collection worthwhile. I have to admit, though, that I was puzzled to see the publishers put this classic story alongside a relative trifle like "Double Dare" (a slight short story written over twenty years before "Enter a Soldier...," and over a decade before virtually any other story in this collection).

At any rate, even "slight" Silverberg is usually worth the price of admission; and classic Silverberg is essential reading for any serious science fiction reader.... This collection is definitely weighted in the "Classic" direction.

If I ranked this collection according to the overall quality of its stories, I would give it a strong five (5) star recommentation. However, I disliked the e-book format enough to downgrade my overall recommendation to four (4) stars. Maybe I'm too old-fashioned, but I have to say that I wish this collection had been available in a print format.

Summary: A Great Collection of Classic Stories - and Dirt Cheap!
Review: This is one of the finest "Best Of" short story collections that I know of by a major science fiction author, and it should be essential reading for any serious S-F reader.

Silverberg's brilliant first story in this collection, "Enter a Soldier. Later: Enter Another," alone makes this e-book worth buying; but the fact that it also includes such classics as "The Secret Sharer," "Waiting For the Earthquake," "The Iron Star," and "Our Lady of the Sauropods," (...)

I did not care for the e-book format of this collection - call me old-fashioned, but give me a good old printed book any day! However, this preference of mine is trivial compared to the dirt cheap price of this collection, the fact that Amazon.com delivers it to your PC within MINUTES of ordering, and (most important) the fact that no other "Best Of" collection of Silverberg's short stories is in print right now.
