Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superb detail and intrigue.
Review: This is the best treasure hunt book to print in years. It features exquisitely detailed and colorful pictures, as well as the fiendish, MENSA approved puzzle of the Pendragon Alchemy. A great grab for the seasoned puzzler and the child alike.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A true test. The illustrations are unsurpassed.
Review: This is truly the first challenging mystery that I have ever encountered. It is only enhanced by the superb illustrations. The story of Merlin and Nimue is truly timeless and tragic. If only the magic had not been lost. Or has it?

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: clueless puzzle, ho-hum illustrations
Review: Well, this is nothing like the Kit Williams book of a few years ago. The illustrations are OK but not great. The story is even less interesting. There are many more books available with more interesting tales of Merlin and his friends.

As for the puzzle and prize, I'll predict that it is never solved. I find it totally incomprehensible. There is no clear place to start and the instructions for completion are unclear.

Finally, there is a companion audio CD with somewhat interesting Celtic harp music. And yes, there is a clue or two on the CD, but I had no idea what to do with those clues either.

Search elsewhere for interesting stories on Merlin and if you're interested in the $125000, go to Vegas instead.

Summary: Excellent book...
Review: Wow. The Merlin Mystery must have taken the artists so long todo. The pictures are immensely rich and detailed. I love the story andsee lots of beautiful messages. I can't give out any ideas that I canthink of to solve it, but I did discover a heavily used bulletin boardthat has a big collection of folk seriously trying to break the puzzlethey are there every day...
