Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An alternate world fantasy with some very good characters!
Review: An alternate world fantasy novel, featuring a battle between a Vietnam War APC and a Dragon! That is just a start. I guarantee you will want to hunt down the sequel (The Starfollowers of Coramonde) and devour it as you had this novel! You will also wish that Daley will write more of this fascinating world

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: People OTHER than gamers get taken to a fantasy world!
Review: An excellent pair of books. The book has a very "real" feel to it. The charcters tend to act more like people some of the other top authors.

Brain Daley was a rare talent. He will be missed.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not bad for a first novel
Review: I can't believe this book is out of print. Brian Daley is an underrated Sci-Fi/Fantasy writer. He only had 10 novels pulished up until the GammaLaw saga. Fans should try to find this one. In it, Prince Springbuck, rightful heir to the throne of Coramonde enlists the aid of Gabrielle and Andre DeCourtney-a pair of sorcerers-and their friend Edward van Duyn from our reality. Together they transport Gil MacDonald and his armored tank-like machine to kill a dragon beset upon them by the evil wizard Yardiff Bey. Gil goes back to his time to retrieve some things, then returns to help Springbuck regain his throne. The story leads into the Starfollowers of Coramonde book. A pretty good story with the fantasy elements thrown around like afterthoughts. 4 stars cause it works.

Summary: My favorite book
Review: I re-read the Doomfarers and Starfollowers at least once every year. Mr. Daley was one of those authors who threw you right into the action within the first few pages and unfolded the history and detail as he went. Brian Daley served in the Army and it shows in the books attention to detail. I highly recommend.

Summary: ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!!
Review: I'm sure most of us got started on Brian Daley through his Han Solo trilogy like I did. Then my cousin brought this book over called "The Doomfarers of Coramonde" and since it was from the author of some of my fav. Star Wars books, I gave it a shot. Boy am I glad that I did! An Armored Personnel Carrier gets [snatched] out of the middle of a fight [and sent] to another reality where they have to slay a dragon and rescue a sorceress... and that's only a small bit! It was very readable and believable (for a fantasy story). Of all Mr. Daley's books, this and "The Starfollowers of Coramonde" are probably my favorite that he's written. I still have to read the GammaLAW books and Tron, so my opinion *might* be subject to change, but for now, "The Doomfarers of Coramonde" and "The Starfollowers of Coramonde" remain my favorites.

Summary: Outstanding Sci-Fi Adventure
Review: I've read this and the sequel (Starfollowers of Coramonde) many times over. One of my favorites of all time. The story is fast paced, and the characters are extremely believable. romance, humor, pitched battles and hair raising terror all under one title.

Summary: One of the few good modern person goes to fantasy land novel
Review: Real enjoyable. I think I've read this book and its sequel (Starfollowers of Coramonde) several times. The characters are neat, the world is cool, and the story is well-paced.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: a favorite of my youth
Review: This and Starfollowers of Coramonde (the sequel) are two of my favorite sci fi books. Daley really kept the action rolling and had some wonderful ideas, but always made sure to develop the characters. I love the characters, Gil MacDonald the disaffected Vietnam vet who gets sucked into fantasy land, Springbuck the dispossed, nearsighted king, Yardiff Bey the archvillain, etc. Well worth the price.
