Summary: Perfect alien story with a Cinderella touch
Review: Oh, come on, what woman worth her weight in salt wouldn't want a 7ft golden male god persuing and fighting for her. Why do earth women have to be so stubborn. After Star Trek and New Generation, I would give anything for a man like Dalden to take my breath and heart away. The story was all the better because I hadn't read the first two before hand. Course now I want to, and can't find them. This story was laid out exactly as I thought it should be, and I didn't care that there were no real surprises, other than the offworldly kind. It was perfect for my earthly mind to dream of what may come some day. A golden god to sweep me away from an antiquated, polluted plant.

Summary: Ms. Lindsey, Can We 86 the Aliens? Where are the Mallorys?
Review: Johanna Lindsey is a legend. I love her work, especially the Mallory series. So, why in the world do I feel gyped when I read Heart of a Warrior? First of all, I need an interpretator to understand the "language". And, I need a flow chart to keep track of which planet is which, and so on...I have actually had to put this book down to relieve my headache from trying to keep track of it all. I have read romance novels for years, and I know that a really good one does not give me a headache. The most redeeming quality of this book is the fact that the "hero" in the book is sexy as hell!! I had a few good dreams from the tight leather pants description. Otherwise, I think the chemistry between Dalden and Brittany is lacking, the plot is slightly unbelievable (even for my imagination), and I still need an interpretor to understand the language. I honestly did not like any of her outer space series novels (Warrior's Woman, Keeper of the Heart, Heart of a Warrior). I am hoping that Ms. Lindsey will go back to the Mallory family and give Jeremy or Travis a love story!! I give this book 3 stars based on the fact that Ms. Lindsey is a romance novel legend, and Dalden can let me lay on his chest anytime!!

Summary: Very disappointing
Review: I was very excited when I saw a new, full length book by Johanna Lindsey. I was even happier when I started reading it, and realized she had revisted the Ly-San-Ter family. The two previous books in the series are some of my all time favorites.

But, this book is just bland. Dalden and Brittany were never fully drawn characters, with the addition of Martha, never seem to be alone. This book has no heat, I saw no sparks between Dalden and Brittany, and I couldn't figure out why they were together. There are exactly _two_ sex scenes in this book. That's not necessarily a big deal, but the two scenes are so vague and misty that I thought I was reading a 1970s Harlequin. Heck, I thought the short relationship between Brittany and the High King was far more interesting.

What was even sadder is the relationship between Tedra and her husband. You don't see much of them, but her husband comes off as extremely tyrannical, and Tedra as vipish and beaten down. Also, the ending of the book, where we're supposed to believe that Brittany and Dalden live happily ever after is unbelievable, given the world that Lindsey has created.

By the end of this book, I wanted Dalden to grow some personality (he does slightly, but not really), Brittany to snap out of it, and Martha to shut the hell up. :) Most of this book is Martha and Brittany talking. Dalden's lack of personality is especially evident after reading Shanelle's book - there, he's full of personality and interest.

I went back to reread the first two novels in this series, just to see if I was misremembering how good they were. I wasn't. Warrior's Woman is full of heat and interest from the first pages. The second novel is almost as good. Heart of a Warrior is just not up to the same quality.

Summary: Pass on this one!
Review: I, too, am a long-time Johanna Lindsey fan and have read every one of her books. These sci-fi based ones are the worst! And this one's a real stinker. There's no depth to Dalden and Brittney is just annoying and down right stupid. Who would buy in on hoax that involves being on a spaceship for 3 months? Come on! Throw us a bone here. Seems like Ms. Lindsey was just phoning this one in. I will still read her next novels, but I'll be skipping these sci-fi ones from now on.

Summary: EWwwwwwww.
Review: I like Lindsey . . . she's one of my "guilty pleasure" authors - my boyfriend has a field day with me every time he sees me with a Johanna Lindsey, Teresa Medeiros, or Julie Garwood book, but honestly - I love them all. And I've read 'em all. Every book, every series . . . as far as Lindsey goes, I've been with her from Tedra and Challen to Regina, Anthony, James and the clan . . . I've read about Lachlan and I've read about Duncan MacTavish. I've lived them and I've loved them - all 8 bazillion of them.

Until now. This book made me twist my face in that "I just swallowed a really sour lemon" type of way. YUCK. The heroine, Brittany, is supposed to be this tomboy, independent "do-it-herself"er . . . unfortunately, she simply manages to be annoying. Really. She's gorgeous, she's got talent (she can work with her hands), but those things don't make her likable. Nope - she spends ¼ of the book whining that she's 6 feet tall, ¼ of the book actually being tolerable (helping the hero, Dalden, find some bad spacemen who landed on earth), and the other ½ of the time trying to discredit the fact that she's in love with an alien. There was one point of this book that I actually caught myself shouting "GET ON WITH IT ALREADY" when Brittany was in one of her denial fits. Arrrrrgh!

Dalden isn't written badly, just sort of bland. He's not as well put together as some of the other heroes from Lindsey's novels. He lacks Challen's fierceness, and Anthony's charm . . . he's just sort of big, good-looking, and THERE. He needed more of something, but I'm not quite sure what. Maybe it's a PERSONALITY. (yawn)

The only highlight to this book is, sadly, the computer - Martha. She's got that same sass that she had before, which makes you at least be able to turn the page. If it hadn't been for her, I don't think I would have finished the book, which is saying something. I really like Lindsey, but man . . . there are some things I just won't do for her .

Better luck next time Johanna - I hope that you can make up for this abomination!

Summary: Terrible
Review: I have read several books by Johanna Lindsey and enjoyed them all. However, this book was terrible. It was boring, slow and the heroine was extremely annoying. She spent most of the book thinking that it was all an elaborate hoax and kept coming up with the most ridiculous explanations for the things she was seeing. I normally reread books several times but this one has been relegated to the attic and I dont expect it will be coming down again anytime soon. Dont bother with this book its not worth the money nor the time and effort it takes to get through it.

Summary: Not worth the read
Review: I can't believe I am about to say this about a Johanna Lindsey novel. I did not enjoy this book at all. I admit I had taken a bit of a break from her books as I have been reading Diana Gabaldon so I was unaware of the two previous books in the series but UGH! Dalden did nothing for me with his warrior's "control", Brittany's disbelief gets old real fast, and there seemed to be no plot whatsoever. All in all, quite a disappointment.

Summary: Weak plot makes for a slightly disappointing read.
Review: I'm a 'Johanna Lindsey' addict and so, any book of hers is required reading for me. However, this book relies too heavily on Brittany's disbelief regarding Dalden's 'alien' origins and I think Ms Lindsey labours the point to where Brittany becomes a touch boring. I personally need to empathise with the heroine and I certainly didn't with Brittany; there were too many gaps in her character (if she was close to her family, and room mate Jan, surely a 3 month trip into space - or in an experiment as she believes - without letting them know where she was, would worry her? This wasn't mentioned in the book.)

There isn't enough to make you fall in love with Dalden (he's humourless, made too much into a perfect warrior, which is what he's supposed to be, but he's too hollow) or enough for the reader to understand Brittany's instant attraction to him.

It needed a slightly stronger plot than the one given. Even the token 'bad guy' Jorran is a luke warm attempt at spicing it up and Ms Lindsey doesn't deliver when Jorran has the chance to wreak havoc on Dalden's home world; it weakens the plot further when he suddenly acquires a conscience.

Ms Lindsey's style is as ever, easy and enjoyable with lots of humour; this book does still have that in abundance, but unfortunately it isn't one of her best.

Summary: Yuck!!!
Review: First, you have to understand that I LOVE Johanna Lindsey novels. I have a bookcase full, and I reread them all. That said, this Sci-Fi series (including Warrior's Woman and Keeper of the Heart) is absolutely atrocious! I made the mistake of buying Warrior's Woman and Keeper of the Heart, and they are the only Lindsey novels I have ever sent to goodwill! The only good thing I can say about Heart of a Warrior is that I checked it out of the Library, so at least I didn't waste any money. I would have given it zero stars, but that isn't an option!

These books, with their made-up planets and civilizations, were impossible for me to get into, and I never finished any of them. Most of her other books I easily read in one night. Even the less than spectacular The Gift and Home for the Holidays were readable.

I didn't care at all about the characters and found the worlds, the language and the history uninteresting and tedious. It was so bad that I don't even remember the names of the characters!

Don't buy this book. If you borrow it and disagree with my opinion, you can always go out and add it to your library. And if you're not already a Lindsey fan, please don't start with this series. Her other books are MUCH better!

Summary: Very very disappointing!
Review: I couldn't believe this was a Johanna Lindsey! I was sceptical when I read about the storyline, but hey this was Dalden, brother of Shanelle and son of Tedra, so I had to buy it. Big disappointment. Dalden never came to live, and apart from fysical attraction between Brittany and Dalden I couldn't see why they would get together. The most annoying part was Brittany's unrelenting disbelieve that anything she saw was real. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't.
The only interresting 'character' was Martha, Tedra's Mock II computer, with her wicked sense of humor.
So safe your money, it's not worth it.
