Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: I am an avid Johanna Lindsey reader, own all of the books that she's ever written, but with this one - even I could not wait to put the book down.Ms. Lindsey has probably lost sight of what she does best - writing romances. Heart of A Warrior is basically a "flashback book". There were more flashbacks ( descriptions of the characters in previous books, how they met, how they fell in love etc) than an actual plot to the latest in the Ly-san-ter romances. I don't need to know how Tedra came to end up with Challon, or why Falon was chasing Shanelle half way around the galaxy. THAT was already part of a previous book. Ms. Lindsey should have just concentrated on this book, and left the rest alone. On a positive note, however, if you do decide to buy this book, then you will not need to buy the other two previous Ly-san-Ter series books. This book would have flashed back to the other two books as well, and it would be a waste of your time and money to have all three.
Rating: Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!! Review: I think I have read about every Johanna Lindsey book ever published. I am a dedicated fan and have always looked forward to reading anything by her. This book was awesome. It kept me guessing as the whole time. It's been a long time since I read the one about Daldens parents and His sister, so I am going to read them over again. I absolutely loved the story. Johanna Lindsey strikes again!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Better stick to your historical stories and romances.... Review: I love your historical stories better... Futuristic stories lack your 'usual' charm and I agree with some of the readers who have written their comments about this book and the other futuristic-books-you-have-written. I did not finish this book... after a few hours, I got bored and uninterested.
Rating: Summary: Ugh!! Review: THe computer has more lines and character than any of the people in the story. I won't buy another of her books.
Rating: Summary: Lukewarm Milqetoast Offering Review: If you expect to see the father in the son - you'll be sorely disappointed. Dalden is NOT his father's son. This one in the series suffers from a lack of romance, good plot and is outrightly shallow. The fascinating world of Sha'Kaan is barely delved into and for this reader, Ms. Lindsay has done us fans an injustice. The heroine is hard to like or empathise with. She spends the last two thirds of the book in complete denial - if Ms. Lindsay is to believed - three months of being unable to accept Dalden for who he says he is despite both his and the brassy computer's repeated attempts. Oh, good grief!! I had a hard time finishing the book and I wondered why I ever bothered to in the first place.
Rating: Summary: Ugh! Review: After reading the superb "Warrior's Woman" and equally terrific sequel "Keeper of the Heart" I was sooo let-down by this pathetic end to the Ly-san-Ter trilogy. This book was BORING!! No other word for it. JL's good writing days are over.
Rating: Summary: A collasal mistake by Johanna Lindsey Review: I have never been so sorry to read a Johanna Linsey book( with the possible exception of A Pirate's Love, cuz that was horrible too) as i was to read this one. Let me tell u, i don't drive so i risked the rain and i almost got kidnapped walking down to the store to get this book. And this is what i got out of it? Possibly one of the dumbest books i've ever read? This is a very simple review for me, DON'T READ THIS BOOK!! if ur going to buy a Lindsey book, buy one of the Malorys or Hearts Afflame or The Heir, but stay away from this. The characters lacked personality, they were boring and blah. A blank white wall has more personality. Mr. Rogers has more of a personality than the characters! Johanna Lindsey, at least in this case, doesnt write good sci-fi love romances. I don't mind a good sci-fi book and this one just plan out [disappointed]. It got to the point, when the girl was so much in denial, that i got [angry] at her and almost burned the damned book. The guy was annoying, there was all of one funny part in the story and it was just overall bad. PLEEZ Johanna, Stop with the sci-fi futuristic love stories, stick with the back in the day stuff, k?
Rating: Summary: Uh, Ok! Review: Right, i mean i'm not that big of an expert on Romance novels, but this one was , well, kind of ok. The plot was wonderfull and stuff, in fact i was more intrested in that than the rest. The sex sceanes, however were disapointing and boring: i found myself flipping through them. Please right a sequel to this story mrs Johanna, but make the romance and sex scenes more interesting
Rating: Summary: Heart of a Warrior=Disappointment Review: I will never forget my very first romance novel, which I read 10 years ago--A Gentle Feuding, written by Johanna Lindsey. I was 100% faithful to her and read all her books. I then branched out to other authors like Roberts, McNaught, Deveraux, etc. Yesterday, at the library, I found two books by Lindsey I hadn't read, The Heir and this one. I read The Heir first, and never put it down until it was finished. I remembered why I enjoyed her books so much. Easy reading, totally drawing you into the setting and story. I was excited to start the next novel, Heart of the Warrior, and realized my excitement fizzeled out by page23. I have never done this before, but I actually put the book down and started a new book, with no intentions of finishing this Heart of a Warrior. I have never been so disappointed. If I wanted sci fi and space travel, I will watch Star Trek with my husband. My romance novels are for my escape, and I didn't like the current day/sci fi twist that Lindsey was applying. I just wanted to let others know that if you are a fan because of her ability to bring you back to old countries, the "ton", candles, horseback and the 1500s, etc., this is not the book for you.
Rating: Summary: Not a very interesting book Review: I have enjoyed Joahnna Lindsey's books for years. I used to look forward to each and everyone. Well this book was a big disappointment. The plot is interesting although I though it was going to be about a Viking showing up on a modern womans doorstep. Its a sci-fi romance. The Viking is a Very Very tall man named Dalden who has come to our humble little planet to stop a evil man from taking over our planet. Dalden gets our heroine, Brittany to help him. Brittany is a very tall woman who is looking for mister right and can't seem to find one. She agrees to help him, rather quickly. Dalden decides that she will be his lifemate and she doesn't even bat an eye at that. There is a super computer that helps them both named Martha who adds humor to the story which it badly needed. The story doens't have a lot of interaction between the main characters at all. Its mostly between Brittany and Martha discussing that this is real and not a fantasy and how Barbsric Dalden is. I struggled through this book. It took days to read. I wish it had been better.
