Summary: uneven quality
Review: Like almost all multi-author speculative fiction story collections, this one has stories that run from the mediocre to the compelling. The best one by a long shot (but at some 35 pages more a "novelette" than a short story) is Tom Dupree's "Bread Storm Rising," a variation on the sorcerer's apprentice motif.
