Rating: Summary: In His Image (Book One of The Christ Clone Trilogy Review: One of the best series ever read. I don't read that much, but I read all 3 books in less then 12 days. I started listening to the Left Behind books on tap; The Dramatic Audio series they are outstanding, but only the first 5 books are on this type of tape. So looking for something else to fill the gap, I found out about In His Image (Book One of The Christ Clone Trilogy) After reading the reviews, I ordered the books, only to find I had to finish all of them. This edge of your seat, thrill ride, has you thinking, feeling and wondering. All of it very logical and very entertaining. If you are looking for a great read, then this book and the other two in the series are it. At this point I find my self looking for more information, and books on this topic to read. Left behind is now the next set that must be read.....A++++++++++++
Rating: Summary: Excellent end times fiction Review: This first installment of the Chirst Clone Trilogy is great, but hold onto your seats, as the next two books only get better! A facinating story about the cloning of Jesus from cells found on the Shroud of Turin. Book one gets the story set up and the characters developed. These are the best "end times" fiction books I have read, and if you are a fan of the Left Behind series, you will love these books. Just a note, these almost appear to have been written for the secular reader, and not just for the Christian readers. They are a facinating mix of religious fact, actual events, and science fiction. A must read!
Rating: Summary: Great End Times Book Review: This book is masterful. Having just finished the Left Behind series, this is a nice change on the same topic. It's a wonderful end times novel, based (in the first two chapters) on acutal facts. Beauseigneur intrigues readers with his very apt combination of science and religion. Although it gets a little tedioius in the exact description of happenings at the United Nations, this book will carry you through and leave you hungry for the next. I can't wait to receive the second installment.
Rating: Summary: Christian Sci-fi comes of age Review: This was a great surprise after reading a couple of the LeftBehind books (one of which, from the kids' series [believed] that those "left behind"were not "true" christians). Christ Clone is FAR more intelligent, better written, and closer to the truth than Left Behind, with its comically literal approach to Revelation and its smug attitude toward anything secular. Christ Clone was suspenseful, gripping and great fun. This series and Place of the Lion by Charles Williams are my favorite Christian-themed books. Burn your Left Behind books and read Christ Clone. Jesus will approve :)
Rating: Summary: The Best End-Times Novel I've Ever Read Review: In fact, it may just be the most enjoyable work of fiction, period, I've ever read. Jim BeauSeigneur shows himself to be a master at keeping you on the edge of your seat, waiting for more! His plot twists keep you guessing, even if you're familiar with the end-times. I found that I, like other reviewers here, could not put the book down. But wait! Even though the Trilogy is a work of fiction, the scientific, medical, and political scholarship is extraordinary. BeauSeigneur has certainly done his homework! And while the technical detail in the book is incredible, it does nothing to bog the story down. In fact, it enhances the story all the more. The Christ Clone Trilogy never strays beyond what Scripture tells us. While the trilogy may not follow the usual "party line" on all subjects, BeauSeigneur never, ever violates Scripture. In fact, he documents Scripture more than any other end-times writer I've read. The Left Behind series by LaHaye and Jenkins are great books. But the Christ Clone Trilogy outdoes even them. This book is a must-read. If you haven't read it, you're missing out on one of the best reads of your life.
Rating: Summary: Interesting from beginning to end Review: I just want to write a few words about In His Image from the Christ Clone Trilogy. I started to read it and could not put it down. This is where it gets a little sticky because I don't have the time I need not to put it down. I put off doing things just to sit and read it. It starts out good and just gets better. I would recomend it for anyone, not just those who like a good Christian novel, to read it. It is exciting and has mystery and every thing a good novel needs to hold your interest. Read it.
Rating: Summary: A daring & fascinating approach to biblical prophecy Review: If you order "In His Image" I strongly recommend getting "Birth of an Age" and "Acts of God" at the same time. You won't want to have to wait for them after you finish "In His Image". James Beau Seigneur combines carefully researched facts with imaginative speculation and well developed characters into a trio of books you'll find very hard to put down. This is a "call into work sick" book, so you may not want to start reading till the begining of the weekend :)
Rating: Summary: well researched, high tension, extremely creative Review: James Beausigneur combined christian mythology about the apocalips with the best of espionage, thrillers and science fiction novels. He researched the basis (on for instance the shroud of Turin) very well, which makes the story even more believable. And he carefully unfolds the filosofical and political implications of the cloning of Jesus at the end of the 20th century. He has a good eye for the historical and biblical facts and the way the international powers of today work. It's a must read. Unputdownable!
Rating: Summary: Incredibly well done! Review: How refreshing to read a volume that has the depth and insight to handle the subject of the Apocalyse with intelligence and style! Well-conceived and well-written, "In His Image" handles the prophecies regarding the End of Time with amazing detail and accuracy, yet with tremendous creativity. Author James Beauseigneur has done a marvelous job with this story. I read the first 2 volumes of the "Christ Clone Trilogy" in 3 days, and I now anxiously await the publication of the final volume. This series is worth your time!
Rating: Summary: Finally, out of the ghetto of the evangelical subculture . . Review: Finally, out of the ghetto of the evangelical subculture, comes a refreshing, well thought out, and methodically researched look at the end of the age. And not since, C.S. Lewis have we seen such creativity and imagination in its presentation. Bravo! More! -J. Nordmoe, Vanderbilt University Library
