Review: Jane Jensen has performed her magic for the novel just as she has with the computer game. I had pre-ordered the book in January and,believe me, it was worth the wait. I was a teensy bit disappointed that the book didn't follow true to form with the computer game but I feel that is insignicant. It you are a Gabriel Knight fan, I recommend "The Beast Within" highly.

Review: Jane Jensen's storytelling is superlative bcause she researches her materials and knows how to make time, place, and character tangible for the reader. The novel varies from the game--slightly--but by no means is anything lost. If you love plausible horror and great characters, read this novel. If you have not yet played the computer game, shut off your lights and get ready for THE BEST interactive fiction fright--a-oooooooo!

Summary: Definitely Worth The Wait. Just as good as the game.
Review: Jane Jensen, delivers once again a great novel. It's even better than her first one and I heartily recommend it to even those you havn't played the game yet. Once I started reading, I was hooked. A terrific build up of suspence which sets just the right mood for the reader. It was well-thought out and you can easily tell she spent a lot of time on it with its rich vocabulary. Anyone who appreciates a good mystery instead of a gore fest, go check it out. And to those who aren't, look elsewhere. Last of all, I'm delighted at Jane for smoothing out some plot inconsitencies in the game ,and the extra tid-bits of information further inhanced the mystery.

Review: Just Briliant! Anyone who played the game will find many new things in the book, Jane didn't fall into the same mistake that happened with "sins of the fathers" (if you may call it a mistake, I thought it was brilliant) she changed some aspects of the game when writting the book, but the outcome couldn't be better. Bravo Jane. Keep up the good work

Review: The beast within was just a really great book. Jane Jensen doesn't get wrapped up with sexual tension, even though there is an attraction between Gabriel and his secretary. It's action packed, and just very interesting. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and wanting more. I can't wait until another one comes out. There better be another one. If you like Anne Rice, her she is, without all the adjetives, descriptions, and long agonizing histories that take up half of the book. It's action and horror- pure and simple.
