Summary: Best Computer Game I've ever played
Review: I haven't read the book yet but I have played through the Computer game version many times and I never get tired of it. I just ordered the book and can't wait to rip it open and experience it again. A must for any Sci-Fi/Horror freak. Also check out the 6-CD PC version. It will have you looking under bed and in the closets before you go to bed.

Summary: Good Book, More Real Character Depth
Review: I loved this book. It provides a clear insight into the characters; they seem more real. She departs from the monotony of following the game script and delves into the real plot and how it affects the character. Gabriel and Grace are real people with real problems and character flaws. The main female character is strong and intelligent, a rarity in the literary world, and contributes to a large portion of solving the mystery despite the fact she is not the "titled character".

I hope to read more adventures of Grace and Gabriel without the need of a game. I find myself drawn to their plight and would like to see a novelization of the third game, and further novels of their adventures with each other and the occult.

Summary: Great book
Review: I read this book after beating the game, and I was still kept on the edge of my seat. It has many details not included in the game. Even the parts that ARE in the game are changed a bit so it isn't just a detailed walkthrough as the original novel was (although I still enjoyed that one as well!) There were a number of typos, missed periods and whatnot, but that was an error on the editor's part. I definitely reccomend the book to anyone who likes this kind of fiction.

Summary: Can't wait for the next installment
Review: I thought this book was excellent. Even though I played the game the book was far more detailed in explaining the background of the story. I am in the process of ordering Millenium Rising. Mrs. Jensen is truely a gifted artist.

Summary: Better than the first novelization
Review: I was a bit hesitant to purchase The Beast Within novelization after reading Sins of the Fathers novel by the same author (based on the first Gabriel Knight computer game), but eventually decided to get it due to the storyline which includes subjects that interest me -- Wagner and lycantrophy, for instance. Fortunately, The Beast Within works much better in the non-interactive form than the first in the series and makes a suspenseful reading, admirably mixing real-life facts and characters with pure fiction. The book also explains things that were skipped in the game (or that at least didn't catch my eyes or ears). Highly recommended for the fans of the game series.

Summary: If you've played the game don't hesitate to read the novel!
Review: In Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within, author Jane Jensen takes you on a roller coaster of suspense, horror, and adventure. Set in a small German town Gabriel must take a case as the Schattenjager, and fufill his duty of keeping the family name honorable. Little does Gabe know that soon he will be dealing with a hungry werewolf. Backed up by a rich story line, and a great cast of characters, The Beast Within is a must have for all Gabriel Knight fans.

Summary: A mystery about Ludwig II, werewolves, and modern Bavaria
Review: In the gothic tradition of the series, Gabriel Knight investigates a series of brutal killings near Munich. The killings are believed to be the work of two wolves escaped from the local zoo. But the villagers of Knight's ancestrial home, Rittersberg, believe it to be something far worse -- werewolves. Gabriel investigates the zoo in Munich and talks with the police. His sleuthing leads him to an exclusive hunt club in Munich where the elitist clientele engage in a primitive hunting ritual -- a ritual designed to bring out 'the beast'. Meanwhile, his assistent, Grace Nakimura, is researching historical werewolf cases in Rittersberg. Through letters left by Gabriel's ancestors, she finds herself draw to the story of Ludwig II, the last great Bavarian monarch. An enigmatic figure, Ludwig's life was marked by the bizarre and ended mysteriously. A lost Wagner opera, the last days of Ludwig II, and the hedonistic cult of the hunt club all merge in the stories climax. Although the supernatural pervades this book, the story has more of a dark, gothic/romantic mystery feel than a true horror read. Much research went into the Ludwig/Wagner story, so you may enjoy it if you have any interest in these two figures.
