Summary: This book was great!
Review: I really liked this book. Even though it was kind of hokey at times, it was fun. I kept thinking what a great movie it would be, and I kinda think that was the idea, but that's o.k. It kept me interested, never bogged down, and had an interesting premise. I'm looking forward to more from this guy.

Summary: Superficial characters and unsuspenseful plot
Review: I know a book is not capturing my interest when I have to force myself to read it and have a hard time getting caught up in what I'm reading. This is like a book written from the script of a bad TV movie. The most appealing aspect about science fiction (and I am a big fan of the genre) is discovering something or someone in the story is not what they seem, and subsequently having to figure out what is really going on after all. In this book, however, the hapless author telegraphs exactly what the significance of the artifacts that the characters find so far ahead that you become irritated with how slowly the story unfolds. Mr. Becker may have done research to back his plot, but his writing ability just doesn't do justice to the material. Too bad, this would have been a good story in the hands of a talented writer. Not worth reading, unless you enjoy being bored.

Summary: Unsophisticated, with cartoon-like characters and plot
Review: Link is the author's first book and it shows. The premise may be interesting to some, but it develops superficially and without true suspense. It reads like a comic book, without the illustrations. The characters are cartoon-like and the reader never grows to care about or even like any of the principles in the story. You are better off investing your money in a book by a time-tested master.

Summary: Amazing! You can't put this book down.
Review: I loved it! Nonstop action, great characters, exciting premise, and full of intrigue and mystery -- this was a fantastic read. Please make it into a movie. I can't wait to see it on the big screen.

Summary: Extremely plausible concept of extraterrestrial involvement
Review: Mr. Becker has put together a highly believable narrative about the unexplainable sites in Egypt and S.A. and other places and their connection to extraterrestrials. Highly descriptive, wonderfully readable. You are often on the edge of you seat. It reads almost like a screen play. I had to force myself to put it down.

Summary: An action packed adventure with an interesting premise
Review: This novel is excellent for an author's debut work, and I was not surprised to read on the back flap that the author is a screenwriter. Link reminded me of Raiders of the Lost Ark and also of Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt adventures in its rapid pace, exciting adventures and a very interesting premise. I found the paleoanthropology information fascinating, and not at all pedantic or difficult for anyone to understand. It definitely read like a book just written to be made into a movie, but hey - nothing wrong with that. I'm looking forward to seeing what Becker comes up with next.

Summary: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED DEBUT NOVEL
Review: I can't wait to get this author's next book. A friend passed LINK on to me and I read the entire novel in only two days. The ending left me dying for the sequel. Though this is definitely commercial fiction (And I can see (hope to see) a movie resulting from this effort) it is also thought-provoking fiction. I will pass this one on to other friends with glowing reviews!

Summary: Fantastic fun reading!!!
Review: Mr. Becker has done a wonderful job blending an exciting and fast-paced story with an intriguing subtext of non-fiction. Some of the theories presented in the book are obviously open to debate, but the end result is a fantastic tale that teaches as well as entertains.

Summary: This is the best science fiction book ever written
Review: I love this book because it uses a gripping plot, romance and many other nifty things to create suspense. Great book can't wait for the next!

Summary: Tony Hillerman and Clive Cussler don't Lie!
Review: As a librarian, I spend a lot of time lurking through bookstores to find hidden treasures for the avid readers. I picked up this book and began reading the first chapter. After I was done, I thought "I'll make this one of our March selections...and then said the heck with it, I want to finish this NOW!", so I bought it and stayed up for three nights as well as killing two lunch hours finishing it. Granted the writing is loose in a few places and I kept expecting it to fall into bad writing. However, the author surprised me by pulling it together every time he started to lose control of the story, and even improved it at the end, leaving the door open for an intriguing sequel. A definite read for both adventure buffs and thriller fans. I can easily see why Hillerman and Cussler were willing to write a positive review. Buy it!
