Rating: Summary: this was the best period, end of story. Review: This bookwas excellent! what could be better? it was slow at first but all books are like that.the humour was awesome.
Rating: Summary: Good start..... Review: This is a pretty good book, and I think any Voyager fan should read it. But it was also rather disappointing. The beggining was promising- it was creepy and psycological.....And then the author kind of drops that aspect and goes all action. B'Elanna is a bit too moody, and Neelix is....well, a bit too handy. But all in all it's worth the bad scenes it may have.
Rating: Summary: A good read for any Voyager fan. Review: This is part of a well-written series, and I think that I liked this one the best. The Furies are a great set of villains that would be good to see on the TV show. Mr. Ab Hugh has a great sense of humor, what with Neelix saying, "Oh, no you don't! You are NOT going to get me to stick my fingers in a light socket just to see what happens!" I also never would've thought to use a commbadge like the Captain does in this one (you have to read it, I won't tell you what happens). Also, a good "Trek" novel to me is one that makes me think, as this one did. Mostly it was the us-or-them principle: either save millions of lives by stopping the Furies and winding up killing them all, or leave them alone and let millions die when the Furies arrive in the Alpha Quad. Of course, I would root for the "us", but it still made me think. I agree with Dmdjaqy, and disagree with Kamala222 (sorry, but I enjoyed this one, Kamala). Read it for yourself and you be the judge.
Rating: Summary: This book ROCKS !!! Review: This is probably one of the best voyager books I have ever read. Dafydd ab Hugh deserves high praise for it. The only possible problem, it that this book suffers from 1st and 2nd season syndrome, meaning that the characters are slightly out of phase. All said, it is a great book
Rating: Summary: Good, But Confusing Review: This is the first book I read in the Fury series, but Hugh did a good job getting me caught up. The plot was intricate and pretty well-written (though I find the idea of our species being enslaved long ago a bit unbelievable) and the genocide dilemma was handled maturely and in character for Janeway. I was somewhat disappointed by the characterization of others though. Torres' low self-esteem had no real importance to the plot and simply was forgotten by the end. I did like the scene in the Fury prison where Neelix proved better prepared than the Starfleet crew (he made some good points too!). As usual I had some trouble with the technobabble but was able to follow the general idea. What troubled me was Hugh's note in the back of the book. He seemed very rude to other authors and acted like a jerk. I'm sorry we can't all have Engineering degrees, but that's no reason to banish us from sci-fi! Despite the aforementioned shortcomings, Final Fury was an interesting book which offered food for thought, exciting moments, and a new point of view into the characters' lives.
Rating: Summary: This was a good book, if you read the other 3 Review: This was a good book, and although the characters were, well, a little out of character (like The Escape), in this case there was a reason. Kamala222 please read this bit :o) - They were scared to death by the fury's looks, architecture, etc. No amount of training could stop it, because, as the story goes, it was a built in part of your DNA. It finnised of the series quite well.. but the death of, er, the person who died who i won't name incase you haven't read the book, was a bit obvious, cause what were they supposed to do with him if he was alive - he couldnt stay on Voyager or it would be out of sync with the future books/tv episodes.
Rating: Summary: Tragic end to a good series Review: Words cannot convey my despair after wasting time reading this book. Dafydd Ab Hugh manages to mangle any chance of a decent story with bad characterisations, and realms of technobabble, not to mention an anti-climactic ending. 1/5 stars, only because 0/5 isn't an option. Also worth noting is Dafydd Ab Hugh's petty swipes at other science fiction franchises in his notes - its sad to see that the writer of DS9's "Fallen Heroes" has fallen to this level.
Rating: Summary: a voyager book with hilarious moments! (YES!) Review: Yes, this is definite one of the best Voyager books up untill now. It has adventure, sharp tension, drama, and a society to explore. But on top of that it has humor. I laughed out loud when Neelix, Tuvok and Janeway conferred as to how to escape from the dungeons of the Furies; and when the doctor .... No I won't tell you. Read it. It's worth your money.
