Summary: A good Start to a new series
Review: I liked this book. The whole modern Dragon, St George struggle is fascinating. The emotional level of this book is prety engaging as well.

Summary: Great concept, good characters, can't wait for the next one
Review: I love Margaret Weis but I have to admit I like her better when she writes on her own. My favorite was the star of the guardian series. This is the first in what must be a series and although I understand it does alot of setting up for the other novels i was a bit disappoint with the Sandra's character and how it was treated. The romance needed more developement and I was alittle disappointed with what happens with the end. I felt the focus should have stayed on her and him rather than him and the brother.

Still excellent overall, it can only get better from here.

Summary: Excellent - a mature, modern fantasy
Review: I read this right after reading the first Dragonlance book. I couldn't believe they were by the same author. Dragonlance is a classic, but Dark Heart is unique and wonderful! Perhaps it is due to Ms. Weis becoming a more experienced and mature author, or maybe it is the influence of the co-authors. I couldn't put it down. Justinian in Dark Heart reminded me of Anne Rice's vampires, but with a more clean and direct approach. The look into the 'soul' of an immortal was deep and enthralling. It may not be what the typical teenage fantasy reader is looking for, but as an adult lover of fantasy and horror, I was impressed. I anxiously await the sequel.

Summary: This novel was gripping & unpredictable -- a great read!
Review: I really enjoyed the dragon-lore history (fictional or not) upon which this story was based. The complexity of each character was presented through various situations & their responses to them -- rather than a detailed narrative explaining their personalities. The story was exciting & kept my interest. I was surprised at the end -- I'm a "love conquers all" type of person, but the unexpected ending really had an impact upon my emotions. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series, because I really want to know what happens to Justin & the Dragon.

Summary: Well written, grabs the reader
Review: I saw this book at the library and decided to see what it was about. I was hooked the minute I sat down; started it in the evening, finished it this morning. The book is well written, moves at a good pace, and combines adventure, morality, romance, and mystery to make for a very good story. My only criticism is that the main characters' could have been more fully developed; also the relationship between the two main characters could have been looked at more closely. However...I still couldn't put the book down! I am looking forward to the next book, as it appears there will be another one??

Summary: Great book-but should have a sequel
Review: I thought this book was really good-well written, lots of action and a good plot. But it deserves a sequel! I was very disappointed to hear that Margaret Weis is not continuing the series-I'm not sure if people will like reading this book wehn it doesn't really have an ending. She should have written at least one more book and given us some closure. It's still a great book though, in my opinion. It just doesn't have a good ending.

Summary: A fantastic Idea, a new approach I really enjoyed it.
Review: I'm a fan of Weis, but I have to admit I like her best when she writes on her own as in the star of the guardians books. However I loved so much about these books, the whole incorporation of myth and detective fiction works really well and keeps the pace moving. I also liked the way some of the minor characters were introduced, I hope we see more of them in coming books. If you loved star of the guardians series then you might wonder if your seeing Derek and Maigray on there path of darkness, It did cross my mind. A definite read.

Summary: Original and Creative
Review: I've read a large number of books by Margret Weis and other authors. My favorites were the death gate cycle and the dark sword trilogy, but this book realy caught my atention within the first hundred pages. It's like a modern fantasy that doesn't need to create a paneant partatheon to add spark and can tie in some Christian Saints.

Summary: were's the sequil?
Review: is there going to be a sequil to this book or what. I read it and loved it. I have waited a few years and still no sequil.

Summary: "Dark Heart" A New beginning?
Review: Is this a new beginning for Margret Weis and friends?? The new direction taken by "Dark Heart" takes readers towards a more mature and slightly darker subject matter. A first impression makes for the first death to be a thing looked forward to by even the purest soul. The charactors become placed in a whirl of deception in which right and wrong are shown to be more points of view than points on a map. Here's hoping that this book is only the first in a long line of hard-core fantasy.
