Rating: Summary: Welcome to the near future. Review: Ten years beyond our own time, beings with the powers of Gods walk among mortals. How have they changed the world? It's high time we found out. Aberrant: Year One covers the major cities and technological breakthroughs of 2008. Some cities have changed little; others, such as Addis Ababa, are Nova-created. Those people who are expecting rayguns and hoverboots are out to be disappointed. On the other hand, Aberrant: Year One covers more plausible technology, Nova-inspired concepts, and key players of many cities. The story- and straight information- sections make for a variety of methods of learning the ropes of a world not quite our own.

Rating: Summary: Too much of nothing Review: This is the guide for the Aberrant player to all the world. Most of the information is just there to fill pages. The book is divided on two sections, the first is some locations for the adventure, there are a lot of scenarios around the world with the famous Novas who live there. The second section is much better because it puts the wild sci-fi gamer imagination to the ground setting a halt to all assumptions about scientific advances, the world has changed in ten years but there are limits. Specially useful the section about super science or "if you want to break the rules how much it will cost me" for all the players who feel they are born geniuses. I would really first buy other books of the system before this one.
