Rating: Summary: Execlent Book, A Must Read!! Review: One Of The Best Books I Have Ever Read.. You Must Read This Book. ~Steve
Rating: Summary: This was an awesome book!!I read it 4 times! Review: Piers Anthony and Robert Kornwise did a marvelous job on this book!!
They wrote it so as to give the four adventurers challenge(that was when Vidav was taken out of the story temporaraly-which was certainly
needed; with him there would be NO real danger to the "Chosen". I
also really liked the ironic twist at the end of the book when
Nefarious thought the Chosen were sent to help him.
If you haven't read this book, you need to!

Rating: Summary: extremly Great Review: Piers Anthony is perhaps one of the most imaginative, spellbinding, and ultimately ingenius writers in the genre today. This book was indeed unique in that it was "co-written" with a dead Robert Kornwise. In essence, Anthony edited and elaborated upon Kornwise's original draft, which he had wrote in highschool before being killed by a drunk driver. Piers says he believes this is the book Robert would have written, if he were to have matured in his writing a bit and edited it himself.
We start with a teenager by the name of Seth familiar with training in the martial arts. Seth winds up getting jumped after a party, and wanders out onto a frozen lake...where he falls Through the Ice. From here the story really gets going, taking you on a journey of wonderful landscapes and lovable characters. Fantasy at it's best. I'm tempted to say this is one of Piers better works-strange-because it's not really all his own material. But that aside, all Piers Anthony fans will be sure to want to pick this one up for their next read. Then again, this book is for fans of the fantasy genre period. A solid piece.
Rating: Summary: pure garbage Review: this book is good for a child of 11 but expecting more i was rather disappointed. you can see easily when one author leaves off and the other comes in. i think the 15 year old author was better than piers anthony.
Rating: Summary: If you like Fantasy... THIS IS YOUR BOOK!!!! Review: This book is the best book I've read for Fantasy. I picked this book up from the library and never put it down. I liked it so much I went and bought it. I liked it because it had many valuable points we can learn from it and the main character is not a gung-ho, shoot-em up gunfighter, but an intelligent teenager who can focus on his martial arts training when needed and stay calm in the face of danger. I liked this book beacuse of each person's ability and the need for it at certain times. But Seth is the idealistic teen, because he does think intelligently and stay calm, but when he is around a telepath from another demension of earth he acts like a idiot because he likes her. I recomend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and a little romance/comedy included.
Rating: Summary: One of the greatest books I've ever read. Review: This book was wonderful. I read it for an assignment in school. Afterwards, I was happy I had read it. I've read more than once and each time it's just as good as the first. I recommend this book for anyone who loves fantasy. I've never read any other of Piers Anthony's books but I highly enjoyed this one.
Rating: Summary: A good beginning...part2 Review: When Seth entered the magical world with the all knowing talking tree, I became a little interested. All the party characters, except Rane and his magical flute, should have used their gifts more since they were brought there for that purpose. I guess only so much could fit in a little book. For those who have read it, I bet at least half the readers felt as disappointed as I am at the final battle. What kind of ending was that? A little to simple, not clever, for me.
Rating: Summary: Kind of disappointing the second time around Review: You know how lots of books you read when you were a kid are still absolutely great the second time around? Well, this isn't one of them. I read it for the first time when I was maybe 14 and loved it, but since then have moved on to more involved fantasy. This book should have been extended to a short series maybe - then Anthony might have developed his characters more thoroughly and, as another reviewer pointed out, had them use their gifts more. And the ending seemed like so much proselytizing - yes, I believe the Holocaust was horrible and of course I don't like to see a dead deer in the street, but I also don't need to have that preached at me when I'm reading a fantasy novel. Aren't they called fantasy because they're an escape from the real world? Oh, and I think Piers Anthony should keep his Author's Notes to himself. Some of us I think would like his writing better if he didn't feel the need to be so explicit about his motives. When he writes about the q! ! uestion of getting paid on this - the collaboration with a dead teenager - well, sure, we know authors like to get paid. But when he puts it in the author's note, it's, like, cry me a river! The boy is dead! You're alive! And all you're worrying about is getting paid?! And I'm sure his collaborator's family loved reading that. All in all, an average book. Save your time and go read something like Ann Marston's Rune Blade trilogy.
