Rating: 1 stars
Summary: nothing like her first book
Review: At first I was a little upset that the focus was not on Lisane, but as I read on I really came to like Malka and appreciate what she was going through. As the story advanced, you could see her change from a scared little "monkey" to a strong woman, just like Lisane in the first novel. I also liked how Ms. turner set up the story's timeline so it took place around the same time as the first one and how the characters got to meet one another. I can't wait for her next book!

Summary: The Book Had Its Moments,But Wasn't Worth What I Paid for It
Review: I bought this book with basically no idea what was inside of it. I had very few expectations. Still, I managed to be disappointed. The main character, Malka, is all right, but the plot itself and the background were a little thin. I must admit, I enjoyed the ending; it made me laugh, but this is not worth buying the book. Most of the characters are slip-shod. Malka was the character who was developed the best, and most of the time, I didn't even like her.

Summary: Definitely Worth My Money, Darnit!
Review: I have read Delia Turner's first book, and thoroughly enjoyed that one. However, the second one surpassed my high expectations, and I'm finding myself impatient to read another book from her. It was lighter reading, to be sure, but I still thought that it was just right for a paperback. I reiterate: Definitely worth my money -- I would buy three more copies if I thought it would hurry up her next book.

Summary: Simply Amazing!
Review: I love this author so much. I can only hope she'll write another book, and soon! The characters are funny and engaging, the writing fluid and imaginative... and overall, this book is just great!

Summary: Of Swords and Spells -- Read it...
Review: I remember reading this book a long time ago and falling in love with it. I can't really say what I liked most about it. What amazes me is how the author packed such a story into such a tiny book. Not that I'm complaining. If you're in a mood for a good, short fantasy with some interesting twists, this book and "Nameless Magery" would be what I'd reccomend. I liked how this book picked up where the other one left off, but with a different perspective. It's amazing how vastly different the tone of each book is just by looking at the same storyline through a different character's eyes. You'd have to read it to judge for yourself, but I think these two books were perfect examples of Sci-Fi/Fantasy. They were very good, honest.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: So-So
Review: I thought that NAMELESS MAGERY was delightful. It took all the cliches of fantasy--the princess with powers, having to save the world--and made me adore it, just through the sheer verve of the style. But this one seemed to succumb to the cliches. It took way too long to find out what Malka's problem was. The other characters were shadows, and the humor and verve were missing. The style swerved between tiresomely cryptic and flat. I will still try her next, though; I hope she rushed through this one, and that the third will show the dazzle of the first. I also endorse the other reviewers' recommendations of COURT DUEL but you really ought to read CROWN DUEL first.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: delightful
Review: I was a little disappointed by this after reading DM Turner's first book (Nameless Magery). However, my expectations were unreasonably high, and I was only a LITTLE bit let down... Malka is not quite as intriguing and lovable as Lisane, and Roder not as enigmatic and attractive as Kaihan; the resolution seems a little bit easy. But please don't take this to mean I didn't like the book; I read it all in one sitting despite the three hours worth of homework I had promised myself to finish. I will definitely buy any more books this author writes, because they are just irresistible.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Dull and lifeless... yet cheap so I'm not going to complain
Review: I'll admit it, this book did do some good but most of it was filled with lifeless descriptions and words. As for the kiss that supposedly takes place, it was a snore. If you're still interested in this book, take a moment and consider taking a look at 'Court Duel', quite similar with a more complex and readable plot. (Many thanks to the person who recommended it.)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Very Imaginative and Romantic
Review: Love that book! Malka is the perfect heroine:sensable, hadstrong and a little stubborn. Roder is my favorite charecter. He seems very romantic and mysterious. I love the part when they kiss. It made me hot! If you don't have the book, go out and buy it!
