Rating: Summary: A slight let down but *definitely* worth a read Review: I fell in love with Sharon Green's work when I first read Convergence and have been going strong ever since, so naturally I picked this up when my favourite used book store got a copy in. However, I can't say it was my favourite of her books. The character, Haliand, isn't exactly up to snuff with the other Green heroines. Sure they put in the usual 'your so stubborn' line (one of my few problems with her work,) but when it came down to it, she was kind of wishy washy. Which may or may not be a good thing depending on your individuals taste. The idea of the world and the setting was well thought out and well executed with the touch of 'innocent' humour I like so much, but being somewhat of a mythology expert, the first thing I noticed was that the mythology wasn't quite done right. It sounded more fairytale like then mythologically correct, and the last paragraph really drove me crazy since it didn't feel like it fit in with the rest of the book. It may be that I started off with some of Sharon Green's best, but this didn't quite make the cut of her usual writing style.
Rating: Summary: My first, but not last, Sharon Green. Review: I recently discovered Sharon Green and bought a few of the older used books to start with. This was my first, and I really enjoyed it--read it in one day. I had some difficulty "switching tracks" from Jentris to Skyhawk, but I assume that was intentional on the author's part. I will definitely keep reading Ms. Green's other books until I run across a bad one, which I don't anticipate.

Rating: Summary: My first, but not last, Sharon Green. Review: When I first started reading this book, I did NOT think I would like it. The heroine, Hali, seemed to be, well, a brat. Fortunately, however, she matures dramatically throughout the book. She goes from being an infatuated child (boo to Jentris!) to an independent woman (yay for Skyhawk!). Romantic, but still a great fantasy that mostly everyone will enjoy. The book keeps you guessing with a creative plot and realistic (meaning good, but not perfect) charactors. Several events in the book seemed far-fetched, but it's over all a light, happy read.Skyhawk rules! *grins*
