Rating: 4 stars
Summary: McCade's bounty
Review: An excellent build up to the story line, a few unexpected plot twists and a couple of painfully obvious "suprises". Dietz did a great job in supplying an edge of your seat action packed story. This book, as well as the series, has become one of my favorites.

Summary: The fourth Sam McCade novel.
Review: Most fictional bounty hunters don't have wives or daughters, but I do, so Sam McCade does as well. With the exception of books written specifically for juveniles, children don't play much of a role in most Science Fiction novels. I believe they should-- which explains why McCade was forced to share this book with his daughter Molly. Anyone who has children knows how vulnerable they make you. Something McCade becomes all too conscious of "...Stay alive, help others, and remember the things that Mommy and Daddy taught you." Tears began to roll down Molly's cheeks. "Are you listening to me Molly?" "Yes, Mommy, I'm listening." Sara scanned her daughter's face, determined to remember it, and take the memory with her. "Good. This is the most important part of all. Never give up hope. No matter where they take you, no matter how long it takes, Daddy will come. He'll hunt them clear across the universe if that's what it takes. Be ready. There'll be trouble when Daddy comes, and he'll need your help."

Summary: The fifth volume in the Sam McCade series.
Review: Most fictional bounty hunters don't have wives or daughters, but I do, so Sam McCade does. With the exception of books written specifically for juveniles, children don't play much of a role in Science Fiction novels. I believe they should--which explains why McCade was forced to share this book with his daughter Molly. Anyone who has ever had children knows how vulnerable they make you. Something McCade becomes all too conscious of when Molly is kidnapped. But Molly is a very capable young lady, and like both of my daughters, smart as a whip. She knows her father will come for her, and when he does, the bad guys will pay.

This is probably the last Sam McCade novel...but you never know.

Summary: Disappointing compared to others in this series
Review: The buildup was decent but the ending was so abrupt as to leave the reader wondering if Mr. Dietz was suddenly so tired of writing that he wanted to end the story immediately and in any slapdash manner possible. His other novels in the Sam McCade series were better but not as gripping as "Galactic Bounty" (aka "War World). Pity.

Review: The last book of four about Sam McCade is totally incredible. Even though I knew there was only 4 when I bought it, because I bought it after all 4 were already out, I was reading it with the desire for it not to end. There is absolutely no way to compare with other books by other guys when it come to military sci-fi. Unfortunately, there are no more about Sam McCade. Just wait a year and reread all 4 again. William Dietz is my favorite and will always be.
