Rating: Summary: From the end to the beginning Review: Independence Day: Silent Zone, is not what I was expecting, but it turned out to be much better. This story starts out where the movie left off, but soon flashes back to reveal the life of Dr. Brackish Okun, and how he came to head the research at Area 51. Although this book lacks the thrills of the original Independence Day, it more than makes up for it with the new and briliant theories about our alien "friends." If you are at all interested in UFO technology and/or the association between alien visitation and natural occurences, then this story is a must read.
Rating: Summary: a great sequal to the greatist movie ever Review: it talks about the events leading up to independence day.Should be made into a movie it was greAt
Rating: Summary: COOL TO THE POWER OF TEN! Review: Just as Okun says in the book--- it's most definately cool to the power of ten! This halarious story gives us the prequil to the popular 1996 film. It follows the exploits of Okun (hippie genius with a 2.7 gpa) and the old scientists from Area 51 who were there from the start with the Roswell Incident. Set in the 1970's, it's a wonderfully told tale thats funny, and whimsical as well as smart. The style of writing RULES and the images you get from reading it are stunning! This book it totally "Groovalicious" (head nodding) READ THIS ONE!
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable fodder. Review: Like I said, enjoyable fodder. Gives a little interesting background to the whole ID4 thing.

Rating: Summary: Best Book! Review: One of the Best Books that I have ever read is Independance Day: Silent Zone. I love Sci-Fi Books and let me tell you this... THIS IS THE BEST! Happy Reading, Kitty
Rating: Summary: The prequel that never was.... Review: The book Slient Zone by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich attempted to relive the past of the reality created in Independence Day, the smash-hit movie. The action in this title was somewhat lacking after the thrills we all experienced while watching the movie, but it shows the originating ideas behind the movie and throws in a few spicy twists. Building on the Roswell incident some time ago, this book expanded on the ideas present in our minds of what really happened in Roswell. It also showed a "history" of why the aliens came to earth in the first place, and what their goals actually were. This book was a little bit expensive for my tastes, but it proved to be one of the best books I've read in a long while.
Rating: Summary: ID4's version of the Roswell cover-up. Review: The first chapter covered the day after the humans victory over the alien invasion armada. Excellently written descriptions of the interior of the ruined alien city destroyers and the taking of alien prisoners kept me turning the pages to see what was next. Alas, this wasn't meant to be, it was a just a lead in to a rather average tale of how Dr. Brakesh Okun became the head of the Area 51 project. Starting from the discovery of Dr. Okun's notebook in a destroyer (Which by the way was the plot device to shift the tale to Dr. Okun) the story then restarts to Okun's days in college, his recruitment and career at Area 51.The story has some high points with the "reading" of ufo reports that were very entertaining but in the end after I finished the book, I hope that there will be another book that takes off after the gripping first chapter (ID5 perhaps?)
Rating: Summary: It's about Area 51 before the Alien Attack in the movie ID-4 Review: This book is about what happened before the movie Independance Day. It firsts talks about what happens right after the battle drone crashed in the movie. The book is mostly about Okun's life. I liked this book because it has a lot of action and is very descriptive. Okun explains his ideas for the future.
Rating: Summary: A great time-filler! Review: This interpretation of the Roswell incident and Area 51 according to the characters in INDEPENDENCE DAY is extremely entertaining. The story charts the progress from college to Area 51 of Dr Brackish Okun, the longhair hippie throwback scientist from the movie. As his work into alien existence becomes more classified, he discovers the link between alien abductions and the forthcoming ID4 invasion. Some of the descriptions of the alien abductions are surprisingly plausible. Although this spin-off is not as technologically advanced as Rober Doherty's AREA 51 series, it is still well worth a read.
