Review: An entertaining read, but somewhat unfocused

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: great adventure, suspiciously familiar world
Review: I have no complaints about this sci fi adventure and this isn't normally my genre at all. I read this book because I like "bodyguard" stories (usually I read them from the romance section). I enjoyed the deteriorating high tech world (and solar system) that this author created. It sounded suspiciously familiar, as if it's truly just around the corner for Earth in real life. And the bodyguard, Max, was a pleasant surprise. As a "chrome dome" who'd undergone brain surgery that he doesn't remember, suffering brain damage of unknown origin, he was surprisingly self-effacing and humorous. The book is a real page-turner because you're so willing to follow Max wherever he goes. And I enjoyed the little twist in the story concerning the young woman he's guarding, a protectee who's curiously able to defend herself. I hope this author has this turned into a movie soon!

Summary: An engrossing, can't-put-it-down read
Review: I loved this book! I didn't expect to like it because I am much more into light sci-fi and fantasy. I don't like cyberpunk novels or military sci-fi. But I started to read this novel one boring day while I was working in a bookstore -- and had to buy the book that day to take home and read! It was that good. Now I am looking for anything else William Dietz has written. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good story with strong, believable characters.

Summary: Defenetly a page turner
Review: I read this book about a year ago, and I just had to put in my 1 cent worth. Since it's Mr. Dietz, I feel like I should comment. He's the KING. I still remember when I first read this book, I was not impressed at first, because it was written in first person, and I'm not a big fan of that type of storytelling. BOY WAS I WRONG. This book was GREAT, and funny too. Don't get me wrong, this is not a funny book, but it sure had its funny moments. The whole memory thing, the girl he's supposed to protect on her trip thing was pure genius. I had an idea about halfway through, but of course that's when Mr. Dietz wants you to suspect that. The part when he has to stop and play bouncer for awhile was GREAT, funny too. I actually ducked my head during a chase scene he has for fear I might get beheaded. You'll see if you read it. AND YOU MUST. The more people read his stuff, the more he puts out. I'm now looking for ANYTHING by Mr. William C. Dietz. I almost have everything, but not quite. Still lookin'. Keep up the good storytelling in the sci-fi world, Mr. Dietz.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: The first person POV is annoying but the characters are wonderful. Max is a hired as a bodyguard for a spoiled girl on a trip from earth to her home colony. Funny and at time touching. a great story

Summary: Dietz's best ever!
Review: This book combines Dietz's normal penchant for technology and action with a depth of character development that is rare in sci-fi books. I've never felt empathy anywhere near as strong while reading a sci-fi book as I did while I was reading bodyguard. If you're only gonna read one of Dietz's book this is the one to read.

Summary: Great!
Review: This is a really good read. It keeps you exceited the whole time. In the beginning, it seems slow, but then outta nowhere! Bang! Sasha's gone, and Max has to go after her! MKuch action and advetnure, and defintely a good story. It keeps you guessing about Max's plates. Its also funny, too, when Max messes up and says things like "001000101010101" or "And how do you know that XXX672TTT?" ot "Deederwomp." or "Gaberscam." Read it! Now!
