Rating: Summary: Bazil is Beautiful! Review: Want to escape to another world so thoroughly that time just slips away? Come with Bazil and his friends as they defend their world against all kinds of evils. Great characterizations, a unique SF imaginative vision, superb action writing style, and a touch of terran Napoleonic War history brought to another galaxy make the entire series a wonderful read. Not since Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe novels have I had such a great time going to war! It was Bazil who came to my rescue through a recent long illness. Many thanks, Christopher Rowley!
Rating: Summary: Dragons of Detail Review: What can I say? The Bazil Broketail series is one of the best fantasy series I've ever read (the other ones being Dragonlance, Discword, Prydain, The Dark is Rising, Krondor, His Dark Materials, and the Earthsea quartet). It is based on a world of powerful necromancers, witches, wizards, elves, dwarves, Battledradons, and men. It goes into amazing detail no matter what page you read. It explains the political system of the relam, the organization of the armies of Argonath are so detailed that I bet you'll never find anything that goes so indepth. What really got me, however, is the fighting between individual characters is so detailed that it feels like you actually there watching the fight happenning! For any fantasy genre reader, this is a must have! Even if you don't like fantasy you will enjoy it? Even military and action readers admit this book deserves at least 4 stars! I've read the series 3 times! It never gets old!
Rating: Summary: dung what?! Review: what were they thinking. I read ninety pages of crap, literally!! The first ninety pages were about Bazil and what's his face shuveling dung. Who writes about that! I didn't read the book, only the first ninety pages, but I couldn't get past that. If you think this review sucks, SCREW YOU!!!!!!

Rating: Summary: Engaging but poorly written Review: While the actual story in Bazil Broketail is interesting, the prose style really gets in the way. Half-sentences litter the page much like the corpses of the Marneri litter the battlefield. I found myself wanting to take a red pen and write SHOW DON'T TELL across many sections. Unfortunate; with substantial rewriting this book could easily become an 8
