Summary: I'd give it 0 stars if I could
Review: I hated this book! Dezra totally disrespects her father in the beginning of the book and that made me dislike her right away. Caramon Majere is one of the original companions, a Hero of the Lance, Raistin's twin brother and one of my of all time favorite characters. Dezra's attitude toward him made me want to scream. I only bought Dezra's Quest because it featured Tikia and Caramon's daughter, after getting to know her it lost it's appeal. I read less than half the book before I threw it across the room in frustration. I finished it eventually, but only because I spent my hard earned money to buy it, and found I should have left it on the floor. I gave it to the Salvation Army the next day.

I don't mean to be harsh, but I really detested this book.

Summary: Neat story, but could we find a replacement for Dezra?
Review: I have read almost all of the Dragonlance novels, skipping the occasional book for lack of interest. This story was interesting, with a good premise based on the Chaos War and its remnants. The story also allowed the reader to learn more about the centaurs, which provided new and entertaining story lines. Of course, poor old Caramon is dragged through another adventure and does his best to uphold his part, but does every writer have to come up with an irritatingly stupid foil to Caramon? The character of Dezra (his daughter)wasn't interesting, continuously spouted inane retorts and dialogue, and generally was a hateful central character. There was nothing to like about her, nor was there any reason to hope she survived her "quest". I pray that TSR does not waste any more books on the adventures of the ungrateful, idiot Dezra. Thank goodness this story had a number of central characters. Except for Dezra, this "Quest" wasn't bad.

Summary: Great charcters, predictible and simple story
Review: I have read many of the Dragonlance novels. All of the original, and several of the 2nd generation titles. "Dezra's Quest" falls into the later category. While I found the charcters in this a joy to read, I found several faults with the actual story overall. Yes this book is a typical tsr book, and does seem similar to many other stories throughout fantasy fiction. What the author lacked in story he more than made up for in charcter development and believability. I do however think the auther had the end of his book in mind, and was more concrned with that, than how to reach it. Overall, there was a lot of jumping around, a lot of time lapsing, and a lot of predictablility. The charctaers of Trephas, and Dezra are a welcome addition to the Dragonlance world, and I look forward to seeing more stories involving them.

Summary: What a great read for Dragonlance fans
Review: I just finished this book. It was fantastic. I think this new Dragonlance Author is amazing. I've also read his book, Spirit of the Wind, which I liked a lot. So what made this book so good?

1) I really cared about the characters.
2) I didn't know who would survive at the end of this story. Very rarely do I get hooked on a book like this (see R.R. Martin, I'm serious about this comparison).
3) Storyline was very well done. I hated the bad guys and loved the good guys. I also liked the duality of the plot, which can be rare in the dragonlance world.
4) I think the Author has done his homework. Because I've read a majority of the dragonlance books. I can usually see right away if an Author understand the world of Krynn. I really wish Wizards of the Coast would hire someone who has read every book to proofread some of the other DL books before publishing because they can sometimes be BRUTAL. (Tanis the Shadow Years and The Inheritance are two books about Tanis's past..they are COMPLETELY different stories which just tears apart the legitamacy of the stories). But in this book, everything is very consistant with other books in the DL realm.

My one point of negativity towards this book is this. I didn't like the language. I have dreams of one day sharing these stories with my children, but this one, unfortunately, I'll have to keep back longer than the others. I mean, do they really need to say "oh, s***" in Krynn? That doesn't really match the style of the other Dragonlance books.

Other than that. 5/5...Very well done and well written.

Summary: Dezra,s Quest
Review: I thought this book was a great book it had vivid verbs that got you hook onto the book and it seemed like you were atually there in the story. The bad part about the book was that Chris Pierson would go into detail on the guys die and what they look like when they died.I also thought this book was a good book on the wars with the centaurs

Summary: Exciting book from an important new DL author
Review: Once I picked up this book I was not willing to stop reading it until i had finished it. You can get a plot summary elsewhere on this site, so I won't tell much about that. Peirson focuses on a race--the Centaurs--that haven't really been focused on in DL literature. And he does it well. The conflict seen between the characters of the novel was also really well expressed. Peirson does a good job in this novel of show his world, instead of telling us about it. I recommend this book to any DL reader who wants an excellent diversion from the main Fifth Age plot line.

Summary: Great addition to The Bridges of Time Series.
Review: The plot in this book was fast paced, with good, descriptive battle scenes. The characters were well developed over the book. Dezra developed from an immature rebellious teen, into a young woman who could turn out to be good or evil. Caramon was portrayed with great realism and fitted into the storyline well. The centaurs and other species who played a part in this book were also interesting. Overall, the book built up to a great climax which didn't disappoint. I look forward to seeing more of Dezra in the future.

Summary: There's a new Majere in town...eat your heart out Palin
Review: The plot sound's vaguely familiar, "character seeks help for his people against a growing evil and not only gets an aging hero of tha lance, but his daughter as well". Wasn't this the same plot idea of Pierson's first book "Spirit of the wind"? This time the race that needs saving are the centaurs, the aging hero is Caramon and his daughter is Dezra. No need to fear though, this is where the similarity ends.

The book finally gives due recognition to an interesting but overlooked race, the centaurs. The characters are first rate, and the way the story is written is fast paced enough to keep you interested from start to finish.

Pierson finally breathes life into the Caramon's daughters who until now where overshadowed by their older brothers. Dezra is a character with so much potential, very similar to Kitiara, annoying but at least very realisic and interesting.

What else can I say? get this book and read it. With this book, Chris Pierson has definitely become one of my favorite DL authors.

Summary: Lacking in so many ways.
Review: This has to be the worst Dragonlance book I have ever read(and I've read them all).

What happened to Caramon? He never was that bright...but he was a fierce warrior. Now for some strange reason he is a complete weakling who has to be protected by Dezra, his daughter?

The plot is awful. We are led on an adventure to chop down a tree. Come on...

I usually recommend any of the Dragonlance titles to fantasy readers, but you may want to skip this one.
