Review: Starts like fantasy novel, ends like soft sci-fi. Interesting switch! Singer (the main guy) discovers his society is not the only one on their planet and struggles to survive in both. Deathgift refers to his quest to avenge his murdered clan--it is this quest that leads him to the tech society and may well cost him his life.
