Rating: Summary: I need to start writting some letters Review: What I love about Brust is that he never writes the same book twice. This is very different than anything else he has writen. The novel is composed of letters between the characters, their journal entries, and actual news stories from the London Times of 1849. This form makes following the story a bit of challenge but it is well worth it. Great job Steven and Emma!
Rating: Summary: A stunning novel, reminiscent of Byatt's Possession. Review: Written in 18th century epistolary style, this book by two noted fantasy authors just blew me away with its brilliant combination of adventure story, double romance, Hegelian philosophizing, detailed historical and hint of mysticism. Couldn't put it down. Recommending it to everyone. And Engels as a major character -- what more could you ask? -- Mary Anne Mohanraj
