Review: This is quite possibly the best example of visionary fiction I've ever come across. The author has a firm grasp of metaphysical principles, and does a great job correcting many New Age fallacies. I absolutely LOVED the "Space-Time Principles", and, of course, We-Be the "she-demon from hell." I can easily see this fine book being turned into a movie. Watch out James Redfield: Jan Longwell-Smiley's MASTER OF DISASTER is light-years ahead of your CELESTINE PROPHECY. I hope the author writes a sequel!

Review: When I wrote "Master of Disaster: A Tale of Manifestation, Mayhem and Magic," my goal was to challenge old worn-out concepts and dare people to stop and think. I believe what I have created is a novel that is not just a good story but also a brilliant handbook for the metaphysically inclined who are fed-up with tired, typical New Age literature.Revolving around what I have termed "Space-Time Principles," the book reveals, among other things, the concept of "Practical Mysticism"--the delicate balance between logic and magic that I feel is necessary to understand in order to approach metaphysical teachings with a healthy attitude. "Master of Disaster" focuses on the popular New Age idea of manifestation (the art and practice of mentally drawing objects and/or events into one's reality), which is the main interest of Andrew Morgan, the central character. I take the reader on a three-week adventure with him, addressing many indiscriminately accepted metaphysical teachings along the way. The reader accompanies Andrew as he is guided, or, more exactly, dragged kicking and screaming through a crash course in enlightenment by a captivating, off-beat dream creature he calls We-Be.The most difficult lesson Andrew learns is the importance of recognizing the "interconnectedness of all things" and the need to involve himself in the world around him, as opposed to his original belief that he deserves everything the Universe has to offer while owing it nothing in return. Values that are critically important to the welfare of our species and the planet as a whole are impressed upon the reader in this fast-paced narrative that recounts Andrew Morgan's experiences.The story, loaded with liberal amounts of humor and indisputable logic, will bring grins to the faces of pragmatic individuals who have thrashed their way through the maze of metaphysical mystification and come out in one piece, create a stir of curiosity among those who are presently exploring its twists and turns, and hopefully trigger the awareness of the necessity for discernment for anyone about to enter it.Enjoy!
