Rating: Summary: Gerrold Betrays Readers Review: The first 4 books of this series are one of the greatest achievements in Sci-Fi literature. That also makes it one of the greatest betrayals ever perpetrated by an author upon his readers. I don't know what the deal is, greed, illness, a lobotomy, but books 5 (A Method for Madness) & 6 (A Time for Treason) don't look like they will ever see daylight. ...

Rating: Summary: WHERE IS THE NEXT INSTALLMENT??? Review: The War AGAINST the Chtorr is one of the most gripping SciFi series I have ever read! Which is why I have been patiently waiting for several years for the next installment. David left us hanging (literally) in a South American jungle after the airship plummetted to earth. That book contained an interview with Mr. Gerrold in which he gives some tantalizing looks into the next book. That was 3-5 years ago! Please David, we've waited too long!
Rating: Summary: A Case for a Classic Review: The War against the Chtorr series of books was first published in the mid eighties. At a later point, the incomplete series was rereleased with a few changes. I first read the first three novels in a single hardback collection that I borrowed from a friend's house, and loved it. At the time, I was unaware that David Gerrold had also written "the Trouble with Tribbles." I later bought what paperbacks(the first 4 novels) were available. This set has been with me through multiple moves, and is the last book I will read this millenium. This series has not become dated--in fact, many of the thoughts remain refreshingly new. David has created a very complete world that is easy to enjoy. The characterizations are complex, the plot engaging, and along with the intense descriptions combine to present a seamless experience. However, the series remains unfinished, so ultimately, you must resolve the fate of the world yourself.
Rating: Summary: The war against the chtorr / all 4 books Review: these 4 books are great reading and i'm dying to read the fifth book in the series.
Rating: Summary: One of the Best Review: This book, and the others in the series, is just pure enjoyment from a number of levels. The nasties are very nasty, the psychology enthralling, the character growth rewarding to follow. The way that everthing unfolds in this story is riveting - try putting the damn thing down. Politics, society, humanity at its best and worst, right and wrong, battles, ecology, this story runs around everything and creates a great deal of thought well after the last page turns. If you haven't read it, do so - you wont get any better! And to add my name to the Chorus DG, bring on #5, #6, as many as it takes!
Rating: Summary: Incredible Series!!!..Re-print it PLEASE Review: This is a series of books that I had read 4 years ago and have not been able to find it since..If you liked Starship Troopers, Read this one..more in depth..more detail and chearecters that make sense. One of the best Sci-fi series I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Book #1 of the best series ever written Review: This is the first book in a truely amazing
series. If you like Heinlein, read this book.
This is actually better than Heinlein, just wish
Gerrold would crank out more & faster, but NOT
if it would reduce the tremendous QUALITY of
this glorious series which I have read (the first 4 books) three times and one of those times I actually read it out loud to another person, yes, I read all four books out loud! and man did my throat get sore.
Rating: Summary: A great start in an epic Sci-Fi series from a master. Review: This series is one of the best sci-fi epics ever to be written. Mr. Gerrold has written a masterful story, bringing to life characters that are so real you would expect to meet them on the street. He brings the full spectrum of human experience to the stage, from drama to comedy, love to hate, and all emotions in between. I have only one real questions: When is Hollywood gonna buy the rights to this story and make a series out of it. Mr. Gerrold could write the script, (as he did for the classic Star Trek --The Trouble With Tribbles), Steven Spielberg Directs and George Lucas and Lucasarts Produce.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating ideas Review: Too many years ago I read this book as well as the 3 before it. The ideas presented are fascinating and well thought out. I'm eagerly awaiting the next in the series.
