Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Back to the Dread Empire
Review: This self-contained volume picks up four years after the original Dread Empire series ended. The characters are still recovering from the devestating war that finished All Darkness Met. This time, Cook tells his story from the point of view of both of the former warring sides. Most of the book deals with a sub-plot outside of the main series story-line. RTEW is a must read for fans of the original trilogy, and also worth reading for those unfamiliar with it, since it has many references to those first books. It was the first I read, and it left me determined to find the others!
