Summary: Books is kinda borring like the movie
Review: Ok first off, I love the origanl Dune movie, I think it was great, in fact I am waiting for the supposed three hour version simaler to the Sci-fi channels version of the movie they played about 5 or 6 years ago.
The made for Tv version of the movie was awful. The acting was OK. But did you see the Cheesey back drops. I didnt beilve for one second that they were in a deserst. Yes it was more true to the book than Lynches version, but Lynch seemed to get the Harkkonnes on the nose, and in the TV version they seem, almost nice and tame in comparison.
The DVD is pretty cool, but it showes even more how low budget and cheesy the tv version of the moive is

Summary: .
Review: the books were classic. the 1st movie was horrible. the 2nd a little better, just too much like a play and not a movie, the book on the movie was a major stretch. if you like the movies/game,read the books, all 10 plublished, then youll see how much of a joke it was to put the story into this format.

Summary: cool disk with nice book!
Review: this disk works with any mac or win DVD player as well as on settops, so my initial concern was assuaged. if you like William Hurt or Frank Herbert, it's the bomb!

Summary: Excellent behind the scenes shots
Review: This is a great addendum to the Dune miniseries on the Sci-Fi channel. I thoroughly enjoyed the color section in the middle of the book and reading about the director and production of the expensive series. The DVD that came with it was fun but long winded at times when the interviewees went into what they 'believed' to be Frank Herbert's desires. But how could they know? Anyway, a good book for the Dune fan to pick up.

Summary: Blind leading the Blind !!
Review: What ..., anyone who read the entire Dune series of books will ask themselves " what book was read to come up with this?" pictures are worth a thousand words, so far I've only seen 10 or so worth reading. Although the Movie Dune was bad, the Cable production was a bit better in following the actual feel for the technology of the books. But as for the characters? Who were these people?

Read the books, forget anything that was filmed or any book made to explain the films.
