Summary: It's good, but easy to read
Review: Before the mask is a really good book, except for the fact that it is a bit short and rather easy to read. I liked it because Verminaard is a very interesting character (in my opinion), and if you're wondering the origin of his mace or why he wore a mask, or if you're just looking for a good fantasy novel, check this out.

You get to find out what really drove him to be an evil and powerfull addition to the ranks of the dragon army. Also it tells of his mace "nightbringer"(MIDNIGHT!!!). Got a druid in there too. All in all a good book.

Summary: An Amazing Dark and Twisted Tale. . .
Review: Before the Mask is onw of the only Dragon Lance novels that I have read that really describes what made a man the way he was. The author starts from the very begining of Verminaard's life and shows why he became evil. It show how he changed from a reletively good person to one that is truly evil. Before The Mask is a very well written book that could be interesting to most reasonably intelligent people. Ones looking for gratuitous violence ought to look somewhere else. However, to those of us who are interested in the making of an evil man this book is well worth buying

Review: I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone. It was sad for me though because it didn't turn out the way I wanted it too but it turned out the way it had to. If you can get this book, get it ASAP!

Summary: What a disappointment!
Review: I'm not the kind of person who watches a movie or reads a book based on the actors in it or who wrote it. A good actor can make a horrible movie just as easily as a bad actor can & vice verca.Same goes for writers - although I haven't read a bad Weis & Hickman book yet. However, Micheal Williams has butchered every DL book he has ever written. He absolutely bores me to death. I couldn't wait to read this book because I loved Emperor Of Ansalon & Black Wing. I thought this was going to be another good villian based book. Even though I hadn't liked any of the other Williams books, I thought this was a can't miss. Unfortunately, I was bored by page 130. I have to add this one to Weasel's Luck,Galen Beknighted,The Companions,Darkness & Light and Kendermore as DL books to skip.

Summary: The title says all
Review: The book really is about the life of Verminaard, before coming to be a Dragon Highlord. It starts pretty good, but ends with a sizzle. Reading about characters, who were invented by others and of whom we know that they die, just isn't that exciting. The writers are quite good and should stick to the other kind of non-limit Dragonlance writing.
