Rating: Summary: BREATHTAKING Review: The Silence In Heaven is a truly breathtaking vision of what might happen if one third of all angels were banished from heaven, brutally cast out of the light and cursed to live among a mortal world they have no love for. Stripped of their wings and forced to dawn flesh they each set off on a quest for redemption and the answers that will lead them back to the light. Through the centuries the fallen angel Tashum spans the globe in search of his celestial brother Paladin. Devastated by their separation and desperate to return to heaven, Tashum searches for the clues that will reunite him with his brother and restore them to their former glory. Peter Lord Wolf masterfully blurs the lines between good and evil as Tashum weathers the seas of emotion that plague him as he walks among mankind. Peters fallen angels are thrust into a delicate balancing act, consorting with vampires and coping with human temptation while trying to keep one foot in the light. A truly epic story, vibrant characters and the writers spellbinding word craft make this book a true fantasy masterpiece.
Rating: Summary: 5 stars for the Silence in Heaven Review: The Silence in Heaven, is a fun read. I could not put it down until the last page and I wanted more. That might have been a let down {because the story doesn't end with the last page} but I had heard the author on the radio say "The Silence in Heaven" is the first in a series of books about fallen angels. The author mentioned an architecture in the form of a mystery that holds the bookd together, We'll see. The epic begins 40,000 years ago with two angelic brothers visiting Earth. They get caught up and seperated from each other in the fall from grace. The main character Tashum is isolated on an island where he misses man's early developement and the biblical era. When a pair of vampires wash up on his island things change dramatically. We find out that the first vampires were created by the blood of angels{ A very cool concept} The fallen angel is appalled by the vampire's bloodlust and deserts them after sailing to England. Tashum sets out on a quest to find his brother Paladin {Father to the first vampires} and get back to Heaven. Tashum's journey from 16th century England into the present day is lightly covered with narrative which sets the stage but mainly gets us back into the plotted story. The vampires come back into his life for a wild ride to the boook's finish. If there is a weak link in this novel it's the gigantic plot. The characters and their realationships are brilliant, I laughed and cried with them. I'm definately looking forward to the next installment of a very original concept that sparkles with language. A winner, 5 stars
Rating: Summary: Nice concept, horrible execution Review: There's another reviewer on this page who sums it up pretty well, but let me chime in: The cover blurbs are the best part of this book. The rest is pretty disappointing. I suppose it started out ok--I liked the fall of the angels, and the marooning of the main character on the island, and his contact with prehistoric man. And then the author skips time (and so many possibilites) thousands of years, to meet up with vampires. It started to go downhill from there. Unless vampires are done well, which this isnt, it starts to get pretty cheesy. We get a few chapters set in this era. Then we jump time again into the present day! I was almost screaming at the author at the sheer laziness of missing the opportunities of having the whole of human history as a backdrop. Anyway, then the whole thing develops into a B movie, with weak characters, weak plot, the book obviously padded out so the author can meet his contract as well as set himself up for a sequel, and by the end I didnt care. In conclusion: Good concept. Poor execution. Wishy-washy characters you care nothing about. Boring B-movie plot. I'm going to ditch my copy of this book as soon as possible. I suppose the one good thing I can say about this book is that it should give hope to the thousands of struggling, unpublished writers out there today--if this excuse for a book can be published, take courage!

Rating: Summary: Unique! Review: This book explored a lot of possibilities and "what if's" and was most refreshing! I couldn't put this book down. One interesting point made is the how and who created vampires! Definatly worth the read and I can't wait to read the next one!
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money Review: This book is unreadable. The prose is lumpy. The story doesn't flow. The mixture of angels and vampires doesn't work. The ending is just another Sylvester Stallone chase-and-shoot scene. And, worst of all, after 400 pages you get virtually no new clues about the big mysteries of the book (what happened to Paladin, what is the silence in heaven).
Rating: Summary: Outstanding!! Interesting Concept! Review: This book was a great read! It was a completely original concept about the war between angels and those who fell and the birth of vampires. Tashum is a great hero because he is so far from perfect. He struggles with the new emotions and physical sensations that come with being a creature of flesh. Although a lot goes on in the story line (mainly because so much time passes) it really does stick to Tashum looking for his fallen brother Paladin. I can't wait for the next one to be written! I would highly reccommend this book!
Rating: Summary: Ouch. Yikes. Run for your life. Review: What starts out as a very interesting premise devolves quickly into a battle between (almost) good and (almost) evil, though it doesn't even quite succeed at even that. "The Silence In Heaven" begins with a number of angels being purged from heaven and forced to be earthbound. Then it tells us that it was these angels who "created" vampires with their celestial blood. Can you see what's coming? Yes, the angels must battle the vampires for control of the world or mankind or something. And there might be a love story (almost) involved, but since angels have no reproductive organs, it's more of a frottage* story, I would imagine. Anyway, if you're looking for a summer read that doesn't involve a brain or any common sense, then by all means read this book.*The act of rubbing against the body of another person, as in a crowd, to attain sexual gratification.

Rating: Summary: the silence in heaven Review: when I picked this book up it took about three lines to hook me. I was so excited by the idea of this book. Throughout the beginning i was pulled into a very fine line of good and evil. I fell in love with Tashum and wanted so badly to see him through his quest. As the book went on I began to get frustrated because of how the plot began to shift. I was confused as to wether iIwould need to look for another book because it was not winding down to any resolve. I was a bit dissapointed by the way the book got away from the reson for the silence and what was the reson for Tashums falling. The introduction of Meisha was even more of a frustration because i was teased with questions that I wanted answers to but were never shown. I am waiting for a sequel and am hoping that the author sticks more with the charecters and the actual reson for the silence and less on developing of more earthly problems. The charecters were amazing and the idea is intriguing but he lost me with all the cop investigation and Victor. I guess i am supposed to hate him but i felt that his presance really didnt fit well.
