Rating: Summary: The Best Story that Exists Review: DinoTopia is one of the greatest dino stories I ever read. Could anyone answer me if this place really exists?
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This is the most amazing book I have ever read! With all the dinosaurs and humans on the island, it almost makes me want to be there! Its a good thing the dinosaurs are proud of their strengh, or else the humans would do a lot of walking! This book is a must-read for all ages.
Rating: Summary: One of the best dinosaur- fantasy books ever! Review: I absolutely love this book! I have read it five times and still I am not tired of it. With all the T-rexes and Raptors eating people in movies, it is great to see a book that has dinosaurs and humans living in harmony. I love dinosaurs and this book has beautiful pictures of them! Get this book even if you don't like dinosaurs. You soon will if you read the book!
Rating: Summary: A great book!!! Review: I loved this book!!!:-) I absolutely though it was AMAZING!!! The Dinosaurs are not hostile, what a revelation!(except for the inhabitants of the Rainy Basin, but you have to read that.) I really thought it was interesting and the fact that the Dino's were equal with if not superior to the humans was great. You must read this book, there's something for everybody.

Rating: Summary: A wonderful trip for the imagination!
Review: If there is one top "picture" book....this is it! The gorgeous illustrations and intricate details (in illustrations) really brings the book to life. You can really explore the lost island of Dinotopia and meet many interesting and intriguing characters...humans and dinosaurs. Enter this beautiful land by turning one of it's pages. I loved this book so much I practiclly memorized the whole story and every illustration!!
Rating: Summary: An excellent book for reading to children. Review: My six yr old son loves dinosaurs, and this book is a beautiful work that actually has brought tears of joy to his eyes. It's both an incredibly imaginative fantasy, and a marvelous jumping-off point for discussion of history, culture, and science. I would suggest this book as the basis for Child-Centered Learning in elementary schools, as well. I was prepared to be adultly skeptical when I picked it up, but it has won me over.
Rating: Summary: Some of the most beautiful artwork I have seen! Review: While the story of Dinotopia is enthralling in itself, the realistic paintings are what truly captivate me. The author, James Gurney amazes me with the way he has created a whole world on his own, complete with costume, architecture and objects which resemble a vast array of cultures yet also are very unique and fascinating. The amount of effort and of reasearch that seem to have been put into the book are as good reasons as any to take a good look at this soon-to-be classic!
Rating: Summary: A realistic depiction of a not-so-real setting Review: Dinotopia: A Land Apart from Time is written as a journal of a man and his son who accidentally land on an unknown island when their boat is damaged. It takes place during the 19th century. This island, though, is inhabited by both humans and dinosaurs, living peaceably. The way it is written is what kept me reading. It seems like reading an old, lost journal, copmplete with sketches and pressed leaves. I highly recommend this realistically portrayed work.
Rating: Summary: Marvelous illustrations and content! Review: I found this book in on my brother's bookshelf thinking it would be a nice bedtime story. The cover looked interesting enough, but from the first page I was hooked. As an 18 year old, I was surprised at how this book captured my attention with its detailed illustrations and maps. It was an easy read, but I took longer than usual to finish it, because I lingered on each page, simply marveling at the pictures! In a fictional world of dinosaurs and humans, this book will touch your creative side like few others. I highly recommend Dinotopia, especially for reading aloud to a younger audience. I could just imagine myself in such a world and I'm certain you will too!
